As with all things in life, results count, so I’ll expect some double-blind therapeutic touch studies, where the members of a group of “practitioners” (evenly divided between believers of reiki and nonbelievers) are randomly assigned to members of a group of “patients” (evenly divided between people suffering from various ailments and healthy people), and see what happens.
Years ago there was a comedian who went up on stage during an Oral Roberts revival meeting to shake the evangelist’s hand, and walked off limping.
