Decisions, decisions - Wings or Thai

Ahhhh, Friday. My “don’t gotta cook” day. We’re ordering takeout tonight and I’m already looking forward to dinner. The problem is that I can’t decide what to get. The options are:

  1. Wings from Buffalo Joe’s in Evanston. I loves me a good bunch of wings. I’ve never actually tried Buffalo Joe’s, but have recently heard from 2 different sources that they are the best in Chicago. However, these lofty recommendations breed high expectations, and if untrue the disappointment will be crushing.

  2. Thai from Spoon on Western. Went there for the first time 2 weeks ago and have been dying to go back. It actually bested Jitlata as my favorite Thai restaurant. The larb was amazing and all the dishes were so fresh and clean tasting- not oily and clumsy like so many other places near us.

What to do? What to do?

Thai. The answer is ***ALWAYS ***Thai.

I haven’t had any in months and would kill for some right now.

Wings. It is always time for wings. The hotter the better, with good beer to wash them down with.

They’re both good. If you’re weight conscious then the Thai may be better. It’s got the edge from a healthiness standpoint. But sometimes you’ve just got to have wings.

May I suggest a compromise: wings as an appetizer, then Thai. They’re both spicy, albeit a different kind of spicy, but they’re fairly complementary. And a light, crisp beer goes well with both.

Trust me, your sinuses and alimentary track will thank you!

Ditto. Mmmmm. The Thai guys that sits in the cubicle next to me keeps saying he’s gonna take me to the restaurant that has the most authentic Thai food in town. Maybe I’ll tlak him into going today…

Fish stomach is very popular in Thailand… be careful what you ask for, you might not want it too authentic!

Thai. Larb is my fave.

I only wish I could tlak somebody into taking me…

But wings have celery… and that 's healthy. Almost like eating a salad!

Alas, I am but a poor college student. Methinks I shall enjoy a fine meal of Carnation Instant Breakfast tonight. Perhaps an entree consisting of the kingdom’s finest Ramen Noodles. A delicacy fit only for royaly. A feast!

There is a Buddhist temple in LA that has a Food Fair every month in the parking lot. Great food, copious quantities, and ultra-cheap prices. Me loves the larb!
