Decisions, Decisions

A recent question was asked of me: “What’s your favorite movie?” Being that I am a lover of comedies it came between “Clerks” and “Office Space,” but I cant decide. It seems to me that “Office Space” best illustrates the persona aquired when you’re high. This, no other movie I’ve seen has done quite so brillantly. This, along with being funny and enjoyable in multiple settings. “Clerks” is just a great movie. Nothing I can think of makes it really stand out other than it is quite realistic in capturing the persona of one that is lazy and lacking motivation. Thoughts…comments…anything…

Haven’t seen either. Welcome to the board! This will be moved to Cafe Society soon, I reckon.

May I recommend that you look into this excellent thread for the solution to your quandary.

Thanks, White Lightning, for recommending my thread. Since I, the Maker of Arbitrary Decisions, am already here, I’ll save john_b the trip.
john_b, Your favorite movie is neither “Clerks” nor “Office Space”; it’s “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.

Nope. Not my favorite or the best, but none the less a great movie.

Unfortunately, there’s really no wiggle room here. The Arbitrary Decision has been made; your favorite movie is in fact “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

john_b, If you’re going to hang around here, you will be allowed the leniency of changing your favorite movie to some obscure dreadfully long “masterpiece” that is painful to watch. You will be required to defend to the death its place as the greatest movie ever made.

I loev films, but for some odd reason, I keep going back to The Hudsucker Proxy. You know… for kids!
One of Tim Robbin’s best performances (including another favorite, the Shawshank Redemption). Far and away Jennifer Jason Leigh’s best performance ever.

Second runner up would probably be Murder In The First for Kevin Bacon’s stunning performance, and a truly moving story of justice in motion.

No question: your favorite movie is THE IRON GIANT, which is, of course, everyone’s favorite movie.

“Goodfellas”… best movie in the Universe, IMO.

“Office Space” was damn good too though.
