Godfather part 2 for me
Scarface!! The one with Al Pacino, that is.
Patton
I’ve watched Arthur probably a gazillion times. Mebbe 2 gazillion.
I’m currently stuck between Magnolia, which has been my favorite since it first came out, and Richard Linklater’s Waking Life, one of the most uniquely atmospheric and affecting films I’ve seen in a long time.
Buster Keaton’s The General
For me, it is All About Eve
Either Rear Window or Night of the Hunter. Probably the former.
“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”
I’m dead serious.
The Right Stuff
It’s a great book, too.
Wild Zero
Love has no boundaries, race or gender. ROCK AND ROLL!!
Hmm. It would be a tough choice between Casablanca and Princess Mononoke
Can I pick both Godfather: I and II?
MIDNIGHT COWBOY
Oops. I had forgotten about Third Man which I probably place slightly higher than Casablanca. I still rank Mononoke up there but let me stick with Third Man as my no1 choice.
3 way tie for me.
Fight Club, American Beauty, The Beach.
I’ve watched each about 20 times, and I can usually only stand to watch any movie, no matter how good, once.
Casablanca. The best movie ever made, hands down.
[sub]I’m glad to see that no one’s nominated a Kubrick film yet[/sub]
That’s like asking what about our favourite child. I love all of my DVDs in different, but equally important ways.
Unbelievable. I read the thread description to chime in with my two cents:
The Godfather Part II. No shit.
Welcome to the SDMB, and I applaud your good taste. Great film.
(PS: just saw Gangs of New York - I’ll think it over and share my opinions in Cafe Society soon)
Right now, I’m thinking of Chinatown, but if you ask me tomorrow it might be Yankee Doodle Dandy. But my stock answer is Chinatown, so I’ll go with that.
