Gad, I read that wrong! That’s a different story altogether! The only out for the parents would be if they were paying for his rent–as it seems they are, if only part of it. As it stands, he and his friend could crash in his apartment and it wouldn’t be any skin off anyone’s nose–except his own, the girlfriend’s, and his sister’s.
There seems to be a thin line between the parents’ genuine concern for him and their compulsion to meddle.
