Declarations

Form a line behind the rope, people…

As long as no one objects, I would agree to an amended (ha!) format - but that’s not my call.

To me, amending this to include paragraphs is a fine idea. I had a few instances where I would simply start my sentence with multiple words, but that didn’t seem to go over well.

Them that would object, please let us know. Or don’t. Or just ignore my appalling grammar at the beginning of this sentence.

Shall we continue, then?

Be it resolved then that we post in paragraph form.

Most I should think would be in favor of this.

Likely it will make things go a little faster.

To that end here is my post.

Seem(s) it does to me I screwed up.

Most posters would be appalled at my ignorance of making declarations.

Likely I will be mocked and ridiculed

To that end I correct my former post.

Effect of posting then quickly remedying your mistake:

Their mockery would come too late.

Safety in numbers, then would not be the case here. In a place where thousands would flock at such a chance, be rested that I would not mock you.

And I would even congratulate you for the seemingly difficult way you had to start your corrected declaration.

Happiness, it seems, can be found in skillfully correcting yourself. Or it can be a warm gun. Oh great, now I’ve gone and gotten that Beatles song stuck in my head. Damn…got to use another song to drive it out. Ummm…what’s that other Beatles song that gets stuck in my brain…the one with the woman’s name…errr…“Dear something”. Can’t seem to remember it right now…

Prudence, perhaps?

Indeed, that song also gets stuck in my head. Very clever there, Hal  I ought to have left it for someone who hasn’t caught on yet, so that they could have been right without even knowing why.

Will everyone play along?

Dictate the length of this thread! Play with the new rules or the old.

That should confuse anyone who hasn’t gotten it yet!

Governments have risen and fallen in less time than this thread has been active.

Long after it’s through, the legacy of Declarations will live on.

Established rules - the new ones, that is, with multiple entries allowed - would indeed be wise if we ever want to finish.

Should this thread die before completion it would be tragic.

Not that I’d go and kill myself or anything but still tragic.

Be that as it may, I continue on with posting.

Changed appears to be my above ignorance.

For I am doing this by memory.

Light it remains here these days til around 8:30 P.M.

And the next one will be kind of tough so I’ll let someone else do it.

Transient, this thread shall not be, as *Nightwatch said. We’ll keep this going until it’s finished.

Causes such as this don’t come along all that often.

And BTW, the new format makes it much easier for newbies to catch on.

Accordingly, I’ll throw in a few more entries, beginning with a return to an earlier matter.

All the time I’ve been at the SDMB, there have been 50 posts to a page. That is, if I remember correctly.

Experience tells me to doubt my memory until I get some corroboration. Since my memory is at odds with that of AvhHines, I want to check with other posters.

Hath anyone a sure recollection? I love obsolete words, don’t you? Hath, wert, art–it’s too bad they’ve fallen into disuse.

Shewn has always confused me, though. I keep thinking it’s pronounced the same as shoon, the obsolete past tense of shoe. But apparently it sounds the same as shown.

Events conspire to frustrate you.

(nevermind)

That is 15 posts.

Mankind couldn’t take more.

Are we now to accept multiple paragraph postings? I find that would be too confusing. Can you imagine the double postings or even postings that overlap by ¾ ? I say let’s keep it 1 paragraph.

Are multiple posts confusing to you wolf_meister?

More posts within posts are helping this to move along.

Disposed am I to liking this concept.

To make multiples makes sense I say.

Suffer us to make it through to the end.

While you may hold the prevailing view, I just thought there would be less confusion with single paragraphs. (Okay married paragraphs are permitted too) LOL

Evils such as threads of 1,328 posts should be avoided if possible. Doing this in paragraph style will help prevent this from happening. Of course, I think that one-sentence paragraphs just for the sake of creating a new paragraph is borderline cheating (but that’s just me). Basically, post it however you like.

Are we in agreement with this?

Sufferable, these new rules… With the posting rate waning, and with a careful “preview post” policy, I think any simulposting will stay at a minimum - but I’m saving the next post for some other unlucky fool because this one was hard enough, I’m stumped for the next.
