Declare war on ALL terrorist nations! (My opinion)

The time has come, and the time is now. We, meaning ALL free and anti-terrorisism nations, must join together and become one. Put aside all differences, and declare world-wide war on ALL terrorist nations.

We must let it be known, that we as a people, will NOT stand for acts such of that which was done against the United States of America. For so many years, terrorist groups have threatened to attempt to take away many of the freedoms, etc… away from those countrys that are fair, just, and FREE. They have taken countless amounts of lives, many of whom have been innocents. Children, women, men…civilians…

Yes, it is true that such actions that I propose would possibly lead to a horrible, deadly WWIII. Yes many people would die. Yes, it would possible be the bloodiest war and series of battles in the history of mankind…

…but we must stand up, as one, and join together once and for all, against ALL of those nations that support terrorism and ALL of thos nations that help terrorism in ANY way at all.

This will not put an ultimate end to it, oh no. As even if we eliminate ALL terrorists in the world, more will rise up after them. But, we will have issued a huge statement in declaring war on ALL terrorirst nations. A satement that says we will NOT stand for it. We will NOT back down from it…

…we will NOT be terrorized any more.

Sincerely,
…Downhome…

Psst…listen up everyone, Downhome knows the secret to fighting terrorism which has eluded so many of us for so many years…hush at the back, here (s)he goes…

Mr. President? Have you begun posting to our humble message board? I’m honored!

Wait kids!

Please don’t harsh on Downhome too quickly!

He/She is posting (maybe…) in the heat of an emotion that ALL Americans feel right now…

I agree (and hate myself for it!) with him/her… I want blood right now!
Maybe I (and Downhome) will calm down in the next few days… but I doubt it!
Anyways, don’t harsh on Downhome just for feeling what EVERY Americam feels, and posting on the fly!

This is a HARD time for ALL of us, kids! Remember that…

Well I, for one, am fairly annoyed with you, Downhome.

Where were you and your righteous anger in the days after the Oklahoma City bombing?

If we’d had someone with your fervor and indignation leading the charge, we might finally have rid the world of all ignorant, white, southern rednecks. Yes, if we’d implemented your plan back then, why Texas might STILL be a smoking crater. A truly stirring thought for “civililzed” folks like you and me, no?

HEY! I resent your implication that all Texans are ignorant, white, southern rednecks. It made me so mad I almost spat out my chaw and grabbed the shotgun (the one with the NRA bumper sticker on the stock) off the “stars 'n bars” gun rack in my pickup.

boy oh boy…

considering that we trained these terrorists, should we start by standing against ourselves?

these two statements directly contradict each other

We have never been fair or just to middle eastern nations, we have always manipulated to keep our oil interests safe above all.

We need to start looking at our own government’s behavior if we want to eliminate terrorism.

Why is there no country declaring jihad on switzerland?
Because they aren’t going into the middle east and manipulating countries for their own interests

dentarthurdent~~ Do you blame the teachers at Columbine for the tragedy there? Because they are the ones that tought Dylan and Klebold… That argument does not hold water.

O

Not sure now that those were the proper two names for the “kids”. Anyone know the correct answer?

They were our allies at that point in time. They turned.

Have they ever been fair, or just, to us? Whose oil interests should we have tried to keep safe? Fiji’s?
A country seeks to protect it’s own interests before others’.

Humanitarian aid, technological advances, economic aid, protection, leadership…Bad U.S.! Bad!

No visibility, no political strength, no military power. Smaller population, nuetral country, great chocolate, though!

Again, whose interests should America put first? Monaco’s? Peru’s? If you think that the Swiss (or any country, for that matter) don’t have representatives with interests in oil companies (that’s what we’re talking about, right?), you’re sorely mistaken.

Now I don’t have a course catalog for Columbine High School in front of me, but I’m reasonably sure that “Shooting Up the Joint 101” was not offered.

OTOH, the CIA did in fact train and fund Osama bin Laden (and a number of others…Pinochet, Noriega, Saddam, etc.), so your critique is inapt.

Do you really think bin Laden gave two hoots in hell about the overarching CIA objective when he accepted its assistence in combatting the USSR’s invasion?

I thought we held ourselves up as better than our enemies. Are we now using the malfeasance of our enemies to justify our own?

I think he was more referring to covert operations to destabilize and destroy lawful governments of sovereign states because we don’t care for who the people of that nation chose for themselves as leaders.

It doesn’t really matter how he felt. He is not the only ally the U.S. has ever had that turned. Throughout history alliances have been made, broken, even occasionally rebuilt. At that point in time, we had mutual interests.

Apparently, a terrorist’s version of “fair” and “just” is just a little different than mine.

How else do you “destabilize and destroy lawful governments of sovereign states because we don’t care for who the people of that nation chose for themselves as leaders”?
A game show? A pie eating contest?

Yes, the U.S. has done questionable things in the past. Are you saying this justifies what’s been done?
