De'endee Mafia

I think choie’s scumbuddy is probably MentalGuy.

1)He has been defending her when I was questioning her.

  1. He carefully responds to her Inner Stickler theory. Then he brings up PizzaGuy’s old theory that scum don’t talk to each other, and uses it against other people, having cleared himself and choie. Why would gnarly and I talk about each other, or Stanislaus, when there has been so much else going on? I have talked about both gnarly and Stanislaus today, Stanislaus not much, because he has been very townie all game, but I reviewed gnarly’s posts and found not much to go on either way. Which I think is probably the same as MG found when he reviewed him.
3)He is really emphasizing my Texcat vote, because in other respects (Red vs. Shadow) his record is no better than mine. Interesting that choie accuses me of bussing Septimus, but not Mental Guy, though he only put one vote Septimus and none on Red.

I know choie has a vote on him now, but it is weak as water, and I bet she moves it before EoD. Unfortunately, I can’t wait up to see.
vote MentalGuy

Bedtime for me now.

weedy, i hope you’re up at EOD. i’ll try to be despite that being 6am here. i’m still rereading. so much to over.

I’m about to leave for work and won’t be around for the end of the Day. I’m going to go ahead and

vote MentalGuy

to lock in. Go Town!

i wasn’t intimidated by his posting (well, a little in the start). i was overwhelmed. i’d be thinking and i’d hear his voice not mine. if you will check the other game, i HAVE been posting more but not necessarily analyzing. action there is fast and furious, much shorter days and nights. i’m barely able to keep my head above water. i even failed to vote. :frowning: all my games have suffered as i didn’t figure to be alive in four games.

i haven’t been talking much about Weedy or Stanislaus because there really hasn’t been anything to talk about, suspicious behavior or otherwise. Weedy, like i, hasn’t been posting much and Stanislaus has behaved in ways most consider townie.

as for the lack of delay of the NK role reveal, i'm guessing Red had an ability that caused that.

looking at D5 votes which are quite crucial, i see that those on the Shadowfacts wagon that are still alive are:

  1. Weedy
  2. Inner Stickler
  3. MentalGuy
  4. gnarlycharlie

of the first three, i’m least suspicious of Inner Stickler. of the other two,i’m less suspicious of Weedy.

Vote MentalGuy

I didn’t bother putting in a protect target because we haven’t lynched a roleblocker yet so there’s no reason to think it will go through and I have no idea who might be town in this game. Normal wanted mentalguy dead and even when she’s third party she has an eye for scum like I don’t even know.

vote mentalguy

Oh look, the prodigal returns. Good to have you back, Inner. I’m still curious, though – where were you during the whole of Day Seven? Why didn’t you vote that Day? Town needs every vote we can get. And not even bothering to protect someone…? You’re a doctor, dammit – where’s your Hippocratic oath?

The more people hop on the Mental Guy train, the less sure I am of it. Staying in place for now, but geeze. If he’s scum, someone is bussing him and I want to know who the hell it is.

Yeah, if we’re all piling on MG then it’s going to be difficult to pick apart the vote record.

I remain fairly suspicious of him, but I’m still more suspicious of gnarly. Especially as we’ve gone from a low-voting tie to a one-horse race pretty quickly. I want more attention on him and I want to give the scum a bit of a dilemma. So I’m taking a leaf out of Pizza’s book to:
**
vote gnarlycharlie**

By my count that makes it 6-3. That’s not massively close, but if Mental self-preserves then things could get interesting.

Well, I am going to self preserve. I don’t think we are at lynch or lose, but I think we only have one mislynch left and I would like not to use it toDay. I don’t know that it will do any good, though. I am sure Weedy will come vote for me. I can only hope that choie will unvote both me and Weedy and vote for Charlie.
Diver and Stickler, I would like to know why you find me more likely to be scum than Weedy or Gnarly other than Normal thinks so.

When I die and flip Town, you will see I was making these arguments in good faith. That does not mean I am right. I think Weedy and Charlie are the most likely to be scum, but please check it out for yourself. Do not vote for them just because I think so and I am Town.

Vote GnarlyCharlie

Well, I could hope Inner unvotes and votes Charlie, but he doesn’t really seem that interested.

EDITED TO ADD: I simulposted with MentalGuy. Will redo the vote count after this post.

This is the vote as I count it so far:

**gnarlycharlie: 3 **- **Stanislaus **(2629), **MentalGuy **(2636), **Stanislaus **(2668) (lock)

MentalGuy: 6 - **USCDiver **(2639), **choie **(2640), **Weedy **(2661), **USCDiver **(2663) (lock), **gnarlycharlie **(2665), **Inner Stickler **2666)

Weedy: 1 - **choie **(2640)

choie: 1 - **Weedy **(2655)

Crap on a bun. I don’t trust anyone on the MentalGuy train. I’ve suspected gnarlycharlie for a few rounds now. Stanislaus’s instincts have been better than Normal’s during this game. Yet Normal is confirmed Town, whereas Stanislaus isn’t. What. The. Frank.

Oh Christ. I’m gonna have to go with my instincts again. Stanislaus, I’m throwing my lot in with you.

unvote all
vote gnarlycharlie

Will wait and see what happens in the next fifteen minutes before I decide to lock.

REVAMPED VOTE COUNT after MentalGuy and my posts:

**gnarlycharlie: 5 **- **Stanislaus **(2629), **MentalGuy **(2636), **Stanislaus **(2668) (lock), Mental Guy (2669), choie (2671)

MentalGuy: 5 - **USCDiver **(2639), [del]**choie **(2640), (2671)[/del], **Weedy **(2661), **USCDiver **(2663) (lock), **gnarlycharlie **(2665), **Inner Stickler **2666)

Weedy: 0 - [del]**choie **(2640), 2671])[/del]

choie: 1 - **Weedy **(2655)

So it’s a tie, though that means the noose still goes to MentalGuy. Must think.

I thought you would swap, choie.

vote MentalGuy

unvote choie
vote MentalGuy

obviously

All right, sorry about the fucked-up code. I’m not used to doing vote counts and I couldn’t remember how to mark unvotes. :frowning:

And I just got notified that Weedy has voted MentalGuy. And simultaneously smudged me too. Nice work.

Well there’s no point but I’m going down with the Stanislaus ship – I prefer the company over there. Inner, you’ve got a chance to make some effect here.

vote gnarlycharlie (lock)

It’s not a smudge to say you are scum voting to save your scumbuddy. It’s an accusation.

Is that time?

Am going to bed in any case. Hope we got this one right.

sigh. i knew i should have woken up earlier or locked my vote.

well it’s past EOD even if Astral isn’t here so voting again won’t help me. but going back to bed will. later!

So… I was at the zoo. And completely forgot about the game. I totally wasn’t cheating on you guys with the Mystery Mafia Thread, I swear! Anyway, day end vote count:
gnarlycharlie (6): Stanislaus [2629], Mental Guy [2636], Stanislaus [2668], Mental Guy [2669], Choie [2671], Choie [2675]

Mental Guy (6): USCDiver [2639], Weedy [2661], USCDiver [2663], gnarlycharlie [2665], Inner Stickler [2666], Weedy [2674]

With these votes, Mental Guy would be lynched. And he was! At 5 pm central time, and none of you can prove otherwise!

“String him up!” One adventurer shouted, pointing at gnarlycharlie.

“No, string HIM up.” Another countered, pointing at Mental Guy.

“Aren’t you going to do anything? They’ll tear each other apart!” The mayor of De’endee said to the barbarian.

“Not yet.” The barbarian said, stroking his chin. “This is pretty entertaining.”

“This could get ugly quick. You need to step in before someone—”

–FWAAAAAAWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHH–

Fact: Casting Meteor Swarm at a target less than forty yards away can cause significant temporary hearing loss. Also, 6d6 points of fire damage.

Fact: Critically failing your fire resistance check results in instant death. Mental Guy failed that check.

“Who all died?”

“Just Mental Guy.”

“I want that sorcerer out of my town.”

The barbarian laughed, and then winced. “Aw, come on, mayor. That was pretty awesome. You guys got any ale left? A spell like that deserves a celebration.”

“You blew up the entire town square!”

“Yeah, but we killed a Lord of Slaughter, didn’t we?”

The ranger chose this moment to politely cough. “Ah, no, actually. Turns out, Mental Guy was totally legit.”

“Oh well. So… about that ale…”

The mayor took his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “I really hate you adventurers.”

Mental Guy, an NPC Fighter and one of the Defenders of De’endee, has been annihilated. Night has now fallen, and will last until Tuesday, August 29th at 5 pm central. Giving you guys an extra real-life day for Night because I was so late here.
