I win.
By this I meant Shadow or TexCat. I just realized that in context it looks more like Shadow or choie despite that that makes no sense.
Hey Normal.
I know it was way too much info, but did you read my most recent posts?
I am hoping I am still in the “some people are listening” category, but it’s possible I’ve over-posted and now everyone is just in skim pizza mode.
I fundamentally believe that multi-votes help scum more than they help town. You I think were scum in Pleo’s SS Incorrigible game; the main thing I took away from that was that it was easy for scum to use their multivotes to a) manipulate the votes in a non-obvious way and b) duck the hard choices. If scum can both vote for a Town lynch-leader and for second or third placed scumbuddy, they get to have it both ways. “Sorry I voted for X, but look - my other vote was on Y and he flipped scum later. If only you’d listened to me.”
Whereas Town are, by virtue of the game setup, more likely to vote for Town than Scum even with one vote. A second vote is by definition on someone you’re less suspicious of than your first vote. But with everyone voting, it’s quite easy to lynch a second choice (the compromise candidate, if you like) while top suspects skate. Given that scum will be actively trying to manipulate this situation, I find the net effect to be anti-Town.
To turn this into a slightly less general post, look at where I am now. I’m voting for septimus, and he’s lynch leader, so I’m happy about that. I could vote for Mental Guy as well, but as that would only put him on 2 votes it won’t actually achieve much. It would put my suspicions on record, but I think I’ve already done that sufficiently by making my case on him. The other person I could vote for is TexCat, but as she’s challenging septimus for the lynch, that would just make my top suspect less likely to win so it would be self-defeating. So I either make a meaningless throwaway vote or I negate my own vote. If I’m ever in a position where I don’t mind which of two people swings, I might vote for both of them but the way I see it voting is about stating a preference and the more clearly you do that, the better.
I want to subscribe to your newsletter, Stanislaus.
I’d love it if you gave septimus the benefit of the doubt and helped me slaughter a Lord of some kind.
I’d love it if you gave SP/Shadow the benefit of the doubt and helped me slaughter a Lord of some kind. By which I mean septimus.
OK, ok. I’ll re-read your cases. But septimus has got a stack of scum moves yay high, so I doubt I’ll move. Why are you giving him the benefit of the doubt again?
I don’t know.
I *did *try to kill him kind of hard yesterday (BY THE LYNCH, by the lynch… you twisty people with your word twisting…) so I’m not trying to spare my scum partner, if that’s what you’re worried about.
He’s got a claim, I think we can scan him, if he’s scanned he’s a bulletproof innocent, or an immediate lynch… yadda yadda…
I think there are other ways of handling him than lynching him immediately. I’ve spent all round trying to build cases and pressure others. If, in the end, he’s still lynched, I feel that my time was well spent as we still accomplished lynching septimus, but also had a big discussion about other people.
If septimus is innocent, I’ve spent my time much more constructively than others, I think.
If he’s guilty, well… I did try to kill him instead of that other one. So I won’t feel entirely as foolish.
I read your posts, Pizza, but I don’t have time to go over that closely.
DON’T HAVE TIME TO READ MY WALL OF WORDS?
Lies.
This calls for:
2 Fingers of Suspicion: One for Renata, one for Normal Phase
OK, I’m finally caught up, though I admit I had to skim some of ATPG’s WOWs to make it here. Some thoughts:
septimus continues to read Town to me. I find his actions plausible for his claimed role, and I found myself agreeing with just about everything he said today. I will not be voting for septimus. (ATPG, feel free to accuse me of snuggling or snurbing or whatever ;))
Suburban Plankton also reads Town to me. I found myself in agreement with most of his analysis today as well.
Normal Phase continues to find everything I do scummy. I can’t seem to say or do a single thing that is not scummy to her. I’m struggling with OMGUS on this, of course, but was heartened to note that a couple other people found Normal’s suspicions on me to be a reach. I will renew my vote on her - I think she is likely scum spinning nothing into a fake case. Her comment about me “constantly disavowing” my votes still sticks in my craw majorly. Vote Normal Phase
Here is where things get complicated. I found Normal’s case against TexCat to be fairly compelling, particularly the part about Kelly, Ed and the handshaking. But if I think Normal is scum, it’s somewhat hard to believe she would go after TexCat so hard. Could be a bus, yes, but it would be a bold one. On the third hand, Suburban Plankton’s follow-up case on TexCat adds merit, and I am leaning Town on him. Conclusion: I need to review TexCat more closely before I can put a vote there.
I have more thoughts, but must run to meeting…
About to leave to take my boards, I will be in the test at end of day, so this will probably be my last post toDay.
I’ve been thinking about my vote for septimus, if he is being truthful with his claim, then his actions last night make a sort of sense. Since his actions are the main reason I voted for him, I think I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt (for now).
Unvote Septimus
I haven’t had time to really review the case against Texcat, but she didn’t seem that scummy to me when I was actually reading her posts, so I don’t feel comfortable voting for her right now.
However, nothing so far has made me doubt the case against ShadowFacts, I still think he is most likely scum, and probably the most likely of the top three lynch candidates. Since I won’t be here later, there is no harm in me locking in my votes, so:
Vote ShadowFacts
Just a note, I believe this makes a three way tie between Septimus, Texcat, and ShadowFacts. I believe there is 7 hours left to End of Day…
What is the tie policy in this game?
Go town, I’ll be back after nightfall after I finish my test.
Septimus (5): Inner Stickler [888], Stanislaus [893], gnarlycharlie [959], Mental Guy [968], Red Skeezix [1065]
ShadowFacts (5): Hirka T’Bawa [885], Askthepizzaguy [1030], Red Skeezix [1065], Normal Phase [1080], Hirka T’Bawa [1091]
TexCat (3): Normal Phase [1007], Suburban Plankton [1014], Septimus [1023]
Suburban Plankton (2): TexCat [1018], Weedy
Choie (1): Weedy [923]
Normal Phase (2): Choie [930], Septimus [1009]
Mental Guy (1): gnarlycharlie [959]
gnarlycharlie (1): Mental Guy [968]
Stanislaus (1): Askthepizzaguy [988]
Locked in: Hirka T’Bawa
With these votes, Septimus would be lynched. Day ends in 7 hours at 5 pm central time. As always, please check for errors.
(I think I screwed up the earlier vote count. I only see 3 votes for TexCat, but counted it as 5. Am I missing some?)
Tie policy: First player to reach the highest number of votes gets lynched. In this case, Septimus and ShadowFacts are tied, but Septimus reached 5 votes first. As a result, Septimus is lynched.
I have the vote count as follows:
Septimus (5): [del]Hirka T’Bawa (885-1091)[/del], [del]Normal Phase (887-947)[/del], Inner Stickler (888), Stanislaus (893), gnarlycharlie (959), MentalGuy (968), Red Skeezix (1065)

Normal Phase (1): Septimus (1009), ShadowFacts (1090)
Suburban Plankton (2): Texcat (1018), Askthepizzaguy (1067)
**You have **Weedy **voting for Suburban; that vote was actually on **Texcat (Post 1044), and you are missing Askthepizzaguy’s vote on Suburban (Post 1067)
Thanks! I knew I was missing something.

You missed my vote for Normal Phase up above in #1090.
Sorry, I should have put it on a separate line.
I suppose this is moot point this late in the Day but remember **USCDiver **
I liked my case yesterDay and it was not responded to by the player or anyone else
Did y’all ferget he was playin’?
I’m still playing, real life has interfered, I should have known better than to take that sub position, but I’ll do my best to participate as best I can.
I’m concerned about **septimus’s **role claim. There is no mention of gaining experience points or what the rewards for leveling up might be.
I’m also worried about **TexCat’s **seeming PIS about special ed’s alignment. None of the other cases made today are particular persuasive to me.
Lightfoot, can you link to and/or summarize your case against me?
For now I’m going to
vote septimus
My wife’s out of town today and I’m on full-time babysitting duty, so if I get some naptime later I’ll try to check back in.
Septimus (6): [del]Hirka T’Bawa (885-1091)[/del], [del]Normal Phase (887-947)[/del], Inner Stickler (888), Stanislaus (893), gnarlycharlie (959), MentalGuy (968), Red Skeezix (1065) Diver (1098)

Stanislaus (0): [del]Askthepizzaguy (988-1067)[/del]
As of right now, this tally *should *be correct.
Note: ShadowFacts will likely incur an additional vote from me if septimus remains the lynch leader. ShadowFacts has two votes that are both not placed on septimus. Will likely double-vote to spare himself. No one is double-voting septimus therefore it will be difficult to prevent his lynch. septimus will likely double-vote ShadowFacts, and has no votes on ShadowFacts.
I have strong doubts that septimus will survive the lynch today, or that anyone besides septimus or ShadowFacts will be lynched.
With a few hours left, it behooves the team to remember the tactical situation does not favor a lynch of a Lord of Slaughter based on this tally. it’s too easy for the Lords to disrupt it or keep the lynch leader in the line of fire.

This is the sum total of **USCDiver’s ** contributions. It appears he likes to vote where someone else has already made a case (I call that a good place to hide)
My first vote is nothing but a marker at this point , We’ll see how the replacement carries the ball.
I will ** Vote USCDriver ** as my second choice.

For ** USCDiver** I tend to remember when a case is made against me. Your appearance at my comment makes you even more suspect to me
