Deep fried bacon mozzarella sticks.

This might have been the best idea I’ve had all week! They sell mozzarella cheese in little, round sticks that are just perfect for this.

I took those sticks, cut them in thirds, wrapped each one in bacon, coated them in flour and brown sugar, dipped them in a batter made of egg, milk and flour, and then coated them with seasoned bread crumbs (I used Panko brand, just because that’s what I happened to have on hand). Deep fried at 325° until done, and they were absolutely delicious!

It’s a mozzarella stick, with bacon. What’s not to love?

This does sound quite good. It would probably give a cardiologist nightmares, but most foods with actual flavor seem to.

With those ingredients, how could you go wrong?

This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard of…If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the kitchen looking for Panko crumbs.

Holy Toledo. That’s insane! Insanely delicious sounding.

Urgh. I have a cousin who has been trying to lose weight on a “very low carb, very high fat” diet for several years now. She posted a similar recipe–without the breading, of course. Just string cheese wrapped in bacon, which was secured with a toothpick, and deep-fried.

I’ll toss in the obligatory OM NOM NOM…
