Deep fried chocolate swirl cheesecake

With chocolate sauce. Even if this thread dies quickly, I want to announce to the world that I am presently eating a bowl of deep fried cheesecake. It’s almost more perfect than deep fried mars bars. If anyone asks, I will provide a (sort of) recipe. Thank you.

Okay, people, I wouldn’t mind a couple of other posts, besides mine. Even if they’re just to say, “Eew!”

Lay the recipe on me, babe! Deep-fried chocolate cheesecake sounds like nature’s perfect food. (Or maybe the ultimate heart attack trigger, but at least you’d die happy.)

Well I for one am interested in your recipe. How do you deep fry cheesecake and not end up with a melted, greasy mess?

I’ve got a couple of friends who could be manipulated quite nicely with such a thing, if I could manage it…

Ew.

Pthibbit, InternetLegend. Following advice received at Chowhound, I rolled the cheesecake into globs about the size of a ping pong ball, and chilled them in the freezer. I then mixed up a batter of an egg, probably half a cup of flour, a quarter teaspoon of baking powder, a handful of cornflake crumbs, and enough milk to make it about pancake-batter-consistency.

I then heated enough oil to more than cover the globs, on high, and tested by dropping bits of the batter in. At almost the instant browning point, I put the cheesecake globs in, two at a time (not much oil, small pot). After about thirty seconds, I lifted them out, drained them, and put them in a bowl.

Perfect.

I went out to an Arabic dance party last night, and danced my butt off. Nevertheless, I still think I need to exercise tonight, after what I just ate.

Oh, my blood sugar shot up just READING that, as did my cholesterol. Mmmmm…sounds good!

I’m interested too! Mmm, when my birthday rolls around…

Dammit, waited too long to post…

MMmm. It’s probably a very good thing that I do not own a deep fryer.

You don’t need a deep fryer. Just a saucepan!

I’m so evil.

Well, you said.

It sounds a little too rich for my blood (and stomach), but I’ll bet you if I didn’t have a touch of stomach virus going today, I’d be on it.

I’m sorry but my stomach’s getting queasy. Somehow it just feels wrong to deep fry gooey desserts. I just might have to make myself some french fries this weekend to recover.

Sorry, but I’m gonna have to second the “ew” sentiment. Or third it. Whatever. Ew.

Aw, shucks, medstar. Life’s difficult, isn’t it?
I made french fries for dinner today. That’s what inspired the cheesecake.

You can do the same thing with ice cream, but it has to be really, really frozen solid before you begin. And it’s damn good.

EeeeEEEEEEEeewwww.

Longhorn Steakhouse (at least a regional chain, if not national) has that, but it’s regular cheesecake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Had some last night. Yummy.

Applebee’s has (or had at one time) something like that. It was cheesecake and fried apples wrapped in some type of shell and flash fried like that. I think they called it an Apple Chimicheesecake, but they should probably have called it Heart Attack on a Plate.

Look, winter is coming, and we’ve all got to put on a nice layer of padding to survive. At least, here in Canada we do.

That’s probably why the Quebecois developed poutine.
