My son’s favorite is Chocolate, where they try to selel chocolate bars.
Elderly fish woman:“I remember chocolate!”
Spongebob: “Are you ready to get crazy?”
Patrick: “I’m already hearing voices!”

SPONGEBOB: No, let’s save that for when we sell real estate.
It’s cuz Spongebob has a pet snail named Gary that meows! What’s better than that?! 
My personal favorites are “Graveyard Shift” and “Band Geeks.” You’ve got the Hash-Slinging Slasher and a Nosferatu cameo in one, and you’ve got band humor and Patrick being stuffed in a trombone in the other.

I think a good word to describe the show would be “whimsical.” It’s a silly, non-cynical fanatsy about a very excitable sea sponge and his oddball acquaintances.
I think SpongeBob’s innocence also is a lot of the appeal of the show. He always means well. He’s very enthisiastic about everything he does and he only sees the good in other people, even semi-baddies like Plankton and Mr. Crab. He’s an eminently likeable character.
I have nothing to add here except that I thought this thread title was ‘Defending Spongebob’s honour’ as I glanced down the Cafe Society page.
Sponegebob is what used to be called a “wise fool”.
That is, much of his behavior is silly, but he leads a rewarding & enriching personal life.
That’s “Spongebob”. Sorry.
He is simply the worlds happiest fry cook.
