If you answered correctly, you have watched the show at least once. (And admit it: you were intruiged.)
So why am I making such a thread? Good question. It is my 2000th post. I’ve wanted to make a Spongebob thread for awhile, so I combined the two. I’m dedicating my thread to Spongebob. From other threads, I’m aware that others of you are fans. Hehe.
I admit it, I hated that little yellow sponge at first. But the show really really grows on you. My favorite episodes are:
[li]Pressure- when they go on land.[/li]
[li]Bubble Buddy- when Spongebob makes a little friend out of a bubble. (I really love how the surfer fish dies when the tide comes in.)[/li]
[li]The one where Plankton wants to rule the beach and teaches Spongebob the art of aggression.[/li]
As for characters, I love Spongebob, and I hate to say it, but Squidward. And Mr. Krab isn’t that bad either.
Ah yes, bubble buddy. What could be more comical than a big bubble-man who goes around and annoys the hell out of almost everyone in the town, except Spongebob, of course? That right there was the episode that got me hooked…
I totally agree…I love that cartoon. I watch it at every opportunity. I think my favorites are ‘opposite day’ and the one where he tries to teach squidward how to blow bubbles. SPONGEBOB RULES!! I think the only one I don’t like is the one where he rips his pants all the time, it just gets old. Happy 2000th!
Yay SpongeBob!! We used to have cable and we’d catch it every Saturday morning, the Tzeroling and I. My personal favorite was the one with King Neptune in the burger cook-off with SpongeBob.
“That tasted so good, I think I’ll have it again!” ptui]
Now I’m just waiting for episodes to come out on video. That and “Angry Beavers”.
I must admit, I’ve never seen it. But I still think that Rocko’s Modern Life was the best Nicktoon ever. Possibly one of the greatest cartoons ever made.
I am a Spongebob Square Pants watcher. I first got hooked when I was ill. It is amazing what drugs and the need to rest but not being sleepy will do. I now watch whenever I can. I have even been known to stop and watch the U-Pick show to see if possibly it is on. My family is worried about me, I have tried singing that insidious theme song for them but they don’t understand, no one understands.
Deb: Monday through Thursday. Nickelodeon. 8pm. Come…come join the yellow side…hehehehehe…
Zog: You’re welcome! And the guy that played Tom Cullen was on the TV series Coach.* But his name is escaping me. Sorry. Having a Patrick moment.
Oh, one of my all-time favorite episodes is the one with the squeaky boots.
I posted this tidbit elsewhere, but the voice of Mr. Krabs is Clancy Brown who was the head jailer in The Shawshenk Redemption (Drink up while it’s cold, ladies).
Also, Mermaid Man is Ernest Borgnine.
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy crack me up. “To the Meatloaf!”
Our almost-four-year-old, MilliCal, loves Spongebob. Pepper Mill hates him. (She just read this over my shoulder. "Hate is too strong, " she says. “I dislike him.”)Me, I think he’s quirkily interesting, but he’s undermining my attempts to instruct my daughter. No, sponges aren’t square. They don’t live in pineapples. Thy don’t hav scuba-diving female squirrels as pets.
Pepper may come around. She used to hate Rugrats, too, but now she’s a fan.
Oh good heavens, Cal! Sandy (her last name is Cheeks, BTW), would karate chop you to bits if she heard you call her Spongebob’s pet! Did you see what she did to Patrick when he & Spongebob insulted Texas? Not a pretty sight.
