Delicioius food combinations

WF had a wheel of brie out the other day, smothered in fig preserves, with little tiny toasts to smear it on. OMG I had a tonguegasm right there in the store. It was all I could do not to go back for more. And these days I’m not too big on brie all by itself. Weird.

Salted roast cashew nuts and toffee (or caramel) sauce. Nice enough just eaten like that from a spoon - used as a topping on a good vanilla ice cream and it’s simply amazing.
The salt is quite important here.

I have a nice chunk of stilton in the fridge. I am so going to try this.

Coffee and butterscotch. The bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness of the butterscotch meld perfectly.

Pizza with a chocolate chip cookie chaser. Something about the salt + tomato followed by chocolate is divine.

Sweet ripe mango and hot sauce - Sriracha is particularly good for this application, though chipotle is also very good.

Ditto on the strawberries in balsamic, and raise a generous dash of black pepper - pure heaven.

Watermelon and goat cheese with cilantro - I had a salad made with this combo and couldn’t believe how tasty it was.

Popcorn dusted with cayenne!

Last night someone offered me some home made chocolate candy that had aged balsamic vinegar as the center. Really aged since it was more like balsamic syrup, but still the combonation was absolutely stunning and would have danced all night on my tounge if I had perhaps a bit of scotch to lead that band.

Apple slices topped with brie. I swear, the combination tastes like caramel.

I’m a huge fan of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. The pickles must be sweet, of course. Dill pickles would just be weird. But one time a girlfriend accidentally got me sweet HOT pickles by mistake. I was a bit miffed, but such an egregious error did not deter me from my craving.

Pure. Heaven.
