I’m just wondering why this thread would get moved to MPSIMS when for example this thread and this thread weren’t.
Again, no complaint from me regarding either the move or leaving the other two in the Pit. I got no dog in any of these hunts. I’m just curious as to what about the IANA thread cried out for a move when the Pringles and skirt steak threads didn’t.
Did you report the other two threads, y’know, for the purposes of a controlled study?

I did not report the other two threads. I have no reason to believe that the IANA thread was reported. I can’t imagine that someone could be so bothered by its presence in the Pit that they would actually report it.
Dude, someone was so bothered by the IANA abbreviation that they started a thread about it. And then someone else was so bothered by its moving that they started a thread about that. Believe me, I can imagine that someone was bothered by the thread’s existence. The Princess of the Pea thinks the thread is a bunch of hypersensitive whiners.

The IANA thread mostly generated jokey answers; in fact, they were almost inevitable. But it wasn’t shaping up to be even close to a Pit thread.
The Pringles and skirt steak threads at least getting some serious replies, even though the rant/ire factor is pretty low. They’re borderline but I don’t particularly like dumping threads emblazoned ‘fuck X’ into another forum. It’s a strike against moving and weighs more toward just locking on account of lameness. The two theads are still getting responses so I’m letting them ride for the moment.
It’s a quiet night on the board anyway so it’s no huge sacrifice to see how the threads develop.
This still counts toward my Pit tally though.
