I believe it because I live in a reality-based reality. I notice you clipped off the link I posted from the conservative National Review which agreed with what I said. Here the self-described The Moderate Voice takes fellow Republicans to task for hating government as well:
There are problems in the United States that need to be addressed and the Republicans have issued nothing but inane talking points. That one was their famous “response” to the recovery.
Healthcare was broken, so what did the Republicans do? Everything possible to maintain the status quo and they still don’t have any good ideas for fixing it.
Immigration is broken and what do Republicans do? Everything possible to maintain the status quo.
Again, this is the reality-based world, not one Republicans and assholes like yourself would be able to find on a map, let alone exist in.
Oh, but they are damn good at passing anti-abortion laws. I guess that you can hang your hat on that if you like: Republicans love governing as long as it’s a uterus.
Bullshit. If the Dems would simply agree to do the sensible thing first, this would have been solved. And the sensible thing, since you are no doubt acquainted with such notions, is to secure the border. Lock it the fuck down. Once that it done, we can decide to regulate the spigot any way we see fit. If we need/want more immigrants we can let in as many as we’d like. But dolts like you and other douchebag dems really don’t want the issue solved, they want the issue. And in the meantime, from your head in a p[lace where you can tongue your sphincter position, more illegals—law abiding and not—are able to come in illegally. Of course no one you care about might be raped or killed by someone here illegally. The odds say it won’t happen to you, so what’s the biggie?
Yet, debate does happen here. Imagine that. But I guess when you’ve got no rebuttal, the “But this is the Pit” is a nice card to play. You mental weakling.
How many billions of dollars will that cost? Are you willing to raise taxes to pay for it? Or do you just want to cut food stamps, Obamacare and every other social program until they are gone completely? There is nothing sensible about your solution.
Which has little bearing on all of the facts that I provided from the reality-based world that us adults live in which is that Republicans don’t want to govern. I’d suggest you try and keep up but we established that the reality-based world is a confusing place to idiots like you.
The sensible thing is that is would stop people from crossing the border into the country illegally. Imagine that. Paying for it is another matter, which like everything else we pay for, can be worked out. Would I be willing to raise taxes to pay for it? Yes. But there’s plenty of other places to find the money.
We’re talking about people who are willing to risk dying of thirst in the Godforsaken Desert. To get work, in most cases, to feed their kids. And we’re gonna stop them with a fence. Right. Sure. Hugh Betcha.
“You just keep thinkin’, Butch, that’s what you’re good at.”
People here illegally commit crimes every day. The number of crimes committed by those here illegally should be ZERO. We should have a law that every time a judge lets an illegal walk the streets, and that illegal commits a crime, the judge should be help civilly responsible for the crime. Pass that and watch how fast things get sorted out in sensible fashion. And as it turns out, illegals do rape women. And those women are someone’s daughter. I knew someone in TX who was a victim. Just because you’re able to turn a blind eye to it personally doesn’t mean you should.
Maybe we should ship all of the Americans and leave the immigrants here since “Data show immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than the native-born” and “National studies have reached the conclusion that foreign born (both legal and illegal immigrants) are less likely to commit crimes than the native-born.” according to studies cited by those [del]bleeding hearts[/del] Libertarians at the Cato Institute (PDF).
They wouldn’t come here if there aren’t jobs for them to do. Enforce the laws that make it illegal to hire illegal immigrants and the demand goes away.
Or do you not want to punish the “job creators” who don’t create jobs?
It’s as good as its going to get. Everything that reasonably can be done to secure the border is already being done. (No, a wall running from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific is not a reasonable thing.)
That applies with exactly equal force to those here legally, including the native-born who commit most crimes in America, but what can you do that the police are not already doing?
Feel silly adding to a pile-on but since it was directed at me: the fact is that removing all illegals wouldn’t significantly change crime rates. Another fact is that Australia has illegals despite not even having a border to shut down. So you are proposing a massive amount of security spending just so you can have some illusions of being safer. I know you think you’re being the voice of stern reason but it reads to me as more chicken little thinking.
Not to mention that his 4-point plan for how to secure the borders is entirely content-free, and reads like an homage to Python’s “How to Do It”, here included for your enjoyment:
