No, it’s not good enough. Is there a written account on a non-partisan website that he made the comment in question? Or even better, a video?
Am I to take that as any news agency that quotes him saying something you don’t agree with is partisan?
NPR is non-partisan. FOX News is not a source worth looking at.
HAHAHA you’re a fucking JOKE…
this is too good…
Thank you sincerely, dude. Your idiocy is deeply entertaining.
Sorry, Charlie, but you’re one dumb tuna. The fact that Kirk is your Senator doesn’t exactly give you inside knowledge here.
And as far as TPM is concerned, Josh Marshall, who founded and runs that site, was a damned good print reporter before he went online. TPM’s been around since at least 2003, and I’m sure that if it had a habit of misquoting people, it would have been raked over the coals by the numerous wingnut propaganda factories who are usually reduced to making shit up to make the left look bad.
So if that’s happened, I’m sure you can find it. When come back, bring evidence.
I finally I figured out why Danconia doesn’t believe that Kirk really said it! Kirk was referring to the extraneous, non-governmental partisan bullshit that was being attached to perfectly legitimate funding bills. Bullshit that the Republicans are trying to use in order to obstruct legitimate government function. Danco must believe Kirk is a 6 fingered defect baby like he is because nobody he supports would actually admit to that level of assholery!
That’s pretty unfair to the six-fingered. Comparing them to D’Anconia, I mean.
But they do get a bigger discount.
My guess would be that, since it sources TPM for the quote, he’s going to say it isn’t. And he would be correct in calling it “not any better.”
He’s just not correct in dismissing TPM as a source in the first place.
ETA: Not that I would expect it to matter, considering that it’s him.
Not “non-partisan”, but I presume that if Megyn Kelly quotes it, it must be true.
Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) recently said a shutdown would reflect poorly on the GOP.
“It’s not livable. It’s not acceptable. When you’re in the majority, you have to govern. You have to govern responsibly. And shutdowns are not responsible.”
If NPR is not good enough for you and not non-partisan enough for you, your standards are irrational.
There’s Fox News and there’s the highly partisan liberal press. That’s his whole world.
Looks like the House GOP lost again, as they should! Come back and cry about it some more Danco!
How does it feel like to get nothing because your side is crazy? You threatened a shut down, voted down a 3 week bill, got everybody talking about how impotent the GOP is, united the Dems, and still in the end you got NOTHING of what you want.
Undocumented immigrants will continue to be in this country, paying taxes and taking jobs Americans don’t want, and there’s nothing you can do about it. I wouldn’t be so giddy except what you support is evil, so fuck the GOP for trying to play politics with the lives of innocent children and the security of the country.
Here is the vote breakdown:
YEAS NAYS PRES NV
REPUBLICAN 75 167 3
DEMOCRATIC 182 6
INDEPENDENT
TOTALS 257 167 9
So much for the Hastert Rule. Is Boehner toast?
I get the feeling he doesn’t care.
167 Republicans voted against it? I would love for D’Anconia to enlighten me about why the vote against this was so overwhelmingly Republican.
I know that will never happen, but I’d love to hear it, you know, “no-spin-zone” style.
Boehner’s probably safe, he blamed the Dems and the Senate GOP. Even some of the crazy House members sounded defeated. He gave them what they wanted, which was to grandstand and blow hot air and (eventually) die on their own swords. They got nothing because they knew they overplayed their hand
But, really, how could any of them have imagined, back in December, that this could end any other way?
