D’Anconia: Everyone knows the parties flip their “woe is us” rhetoric on legislative arcana depending on whether it helps or hurts them, or which party is in power. They even flip their stances on substantive issues, depending on how it plays. Remember when Dems were outraged by torture and spying?
You can keep being cute with sarcastic mock outrage OPs and be surprised when you get dog piled. I’d restrain those types of posts as drive by snark instead of their own topic – works for me. Or you can try to be more thorough to expose the hypocrisy, or just focus on the actual point (immigration). You’d get a mixed response to that because there’s a lot of disaffected libs who hate the Dems, but still hate Pubs even more, but you’d probably get more people agreeing that legislative chicanery is afoot (the horror).
You could also start a thread comparing the historical extent of each party’s obstructionism, and which is worse. I think you’d have problems convincing anyone the Pubs haven’t been more enthusiastic, or theirs hasn’t had actual negative effects on the country, but you’re welcome to try.
