New York senate and house pass tax return access bill
So the same congressional committees that are supposed to be able to request tax returns from the IRS can now request NY state returns, which is likely an excellent proxy in the case of Donald Trump.
What’s likely to happen next? I assume Trump’s crew is gearing up to call this unconstitutional? How many appeals might things have to go through? Is it possible the returns might get handed over at some point before all the appeals complete?
