I was curious if there was any data online about who owns what kind of car in the United States? This began when I was thinking about sports cars, which to me seem wasteful, inefficient, and purposeless. Obviously the marketplace doesn’t agree with me, but what kinds of people buy them? What makes me different? I realized this extends to all the different ‘types’ of car, who buys mini-vans? Fuel efficient cars? Luxury cars? SUV’s? Is there any place to get some data about this that is at least relatively unbiased and accurate?
