Have any mods been banned or de-modded? And if so, why?
There was one that I know of.

It’s interesting… but kinda confusing because it’s two years old…
There have been several mods that have voluntarily stepped down for one reason or another.
Thankfully, that kind of thing doesn’t happen often.
I believe that JillGat, Chronos and Nickerz have voluntarily stepped down as mods.
Or rather by yelling, screaming and threatening to hold their breath until they turned blue, got the admins to unchain them.
But scandal still roils beneath the surface. Oh, sure, they escaped. ::laughs bitterly:: No more ankles chafed by chains, no more moldy bread crusts tossed into the cage. (Crust day! Is it crust day yet?!) And the lash,the lash, the cruel taunts of “troll kibble”…
They broke free but left us behind. 'S’okay. Really. No prob. But they didn’t even return their mugs, man! That’s wrong, that’s just so wrong.
At least we still have the goat.

Veb, do you really think that they let us escape? It’s just a trade of a kennel for a leash. Don’t you get Dex’s reminders three times a week to write more Staff Reports? Oh, rest assured, they’ve got us chained securely. Remember, Jill thought that she had escaped, but when they needed her again, the leash got pulled back in.
Well, I guess someone will mention the time that manhattan was ‘demoted’ for a while, so it might as well be me. I won’t link to any threads, though. The diligent dirt-diggers among us can find it for themselves I’m sure.
Jill even gloats about the fact that she has not one, but two mugs!
manhattan went crazy when people started posting drug-related things in GQ en masse. The `gravity bong’ thread was the final straw, IIRC, after which he needed time to rest and regroup away from the board.
We would probably be better off if you did, otherwise people are going to torture the hamsters with vague searches.
Mods don’t get released. They just get longer leashes.

I take issue with this. Has anyone ever seen an escaped Mod?
No.
The reason, IMHO, is because Cecil (the Master vampire) has got to feed, and Mods are a good source of protein/blood. Not to mention, Cecil would be killing two birds with one stone, since all the Mods know about his dark need to sustain himself on fresh blood and an a Mod that is on the loose could be very dangerous.
And all along I thought that was a hickey.
