Morgenstern, Ravenman, and anyone else interested: I started a new thread to continue the Chinese satellite discussion without hijacking this one (any further than I already have)
It’ll just end up going around and around.
I voted for Hillary and I’m against the recount efforts. The democrats would be far better off acknowledging that they lost the election and start focusing on analyzing why they lost, and more importantly why they keep getting their asses kicked in local and statewide elections and why 2/3 of the country is now under full republican control at the state level and why they control the federal government as well. That would be a far better investment of their time and energy, as would finding ways to really reach out to young voters and people who tend not to vote in these lower profile elections.
The recounts are being driven by Jill Stein. How much time and energy is being used up by the Democrats? I agree that self-reflection is needed, but it’s not like this is some huge, time consuming push by the Democrats.
Also, it doesn’t seem to be well understood in this thread that by “participating” in the recount, the Clinton campaign is just sending lawyers to observe any recount efforts. They aren’t the ones advocating for them, filing lawsuits or other legal triggers to bring them about, or funding them. That’s Jill Stein’s campaign. She’s not a Democrat. While some Democrats might be contributing money to Jill Stein’s efforts to get recounts in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, does the OP have evidence showing the partisan breakdown of these contributors?
There you go bringing them pesky facts into the mix.
Hmm, this threat to expose me as a hypocrite for things I said after the 2012 election seems to have fallen by the wayside. Sad!
Probably not exactly.
