Dems - Defend your Senators holding the budget bill hostage

(post shortened)

“block everything until DACA is sent to the President”. This is more proof that elected Democrats, and (some of) the Democrat collective, hold the “rights” of illegal aliens to be more important than the needs of U.S. citizens.

DACA can be discussed at a later date. Funding of the government should not. Everyone has their own priorities. The elected Democrats priority is illegal aliens over everything else.

Because the Republicans are barely the majority party in the Senate, they do not have the 60 votes needed to pass funding bills. Cooperation and compromise is required to pass a funding bill, and the elected Democrats have chosen “block everything” in favor of illegal aliens.

Yes. I have a bit of sympathy for their plight, but it’s similar to the sympathy I have for the children of bank robbers or drug dealers that get sent to prison: that sucks that you’re going to be separated from your parents. Good luck.

The Party of Family Values in action, folks.

Lord help us.

My take, and the U.S. Constitution agrees with me, is that it’s Congress’s responsibility to provide funding for government. Congress critters can’t/won’t/refuses do its job. Elected representatives will not work with each other. That’s simply politics. Blaming the Executive branch for Congresses own failure is also politics. SSDD.

Congress is responsible for funding the government and Congress needs to do it’s job instead of blaming everyone except Congress.

The Party of Illegal Alien Values in action, folks. Screw those U.S. citizens who expect Congress to fund their government. Illegal Alien “rights” are more important.

Or make it a real old-fashioned non-stop talk-for-days filibuster.

Nothing will change the reality that **American **kids will be harmed, and that **most Republicans also support that the DACA people should be helped.
**
That some Republicans like to support a minority in congress that is for inhuman solutions should be shameful, but some like Trump do not have it.

You did see that my first answer was “If a deal is worked out whereby they get a green card, that’s ok with me”, right?

Look, American kids get harmed all the time. When mommy gets locked up for buying meth or daddy goes to jail for getting in a bar fight, for example, that hurts those kids, agreed?

DACA has been ignored for months, while real lives will start to be affected soon. At some point, Democrats were going to put their foot down and force Republicans to actually govern. They’ve been punting on funding for months while they tried to end the ACA and shove a shit tax bill down the collective throats of Americans.

I’m sure you said the same thing when Garland was nominated.

Being moved to another country with no say in the matter is like getting in a bar fight, and working your ass off to stay in school or hold down a job while not having any documentation until 2012 is like buying meth.

Right, and right away it is clear that you will support what Republicans in congress and the White house want to do if there is no deal, regardless (and even) if most rank and file Republicans do not agree.

It won’t work, I also think and have evidence that the Drug war is idiotic.

And it is really silly to claim that people brought as kids to America should be treated just the same as drug dealers or violent people, you are only looking at the propaganda coming from extreme conservatives or from Trump.

He and those poisoned wells of information are not only wrong, but immoral.

In the sense that entering the US illegally, getting in a bar fight, and buying meth are all violations of our laws, yes, they have that in common.

Is fraud a violation of our laws?

I have not claimed that they should be treated “just the same”.

Do we also charge kidnap victims kept in a warehouse with trespassing?

It would probably depend on whether the kidnap victims moved into the warehouse after they were freed or not.

Trump and Republican henchmen also claim that, but instead of differentiating they are demanding supporters (by their words and for not openly telling Trump to have some shame) to reach for the darkest angels of their nature.

And really, your latest replies do sound as if you are saying that what they did is the same as serious crimes.

We should probably have agencies and processes to minimize the harm inflicted on those children. What’s that? We do? No one tell the Republicans that funds are going to children that could be going to the 1%.

Is there any reason those same agencies can’t help the US citizen children of deported parents?

Isn’t it easier, as well as saner, to just not deport them for something they’re not responsible for?
