Dems - Defend your Senators holding the budget bill hostage

(post shortened)

You seem confused. I never said that.

So President Trump got it wrong when he said that it was ultimately the responsibility of the President?

(underline added)

Of course you are. More and more Democrats are proving that they believe that non-citizens are more important than citizens. Illegal aliens are more important than law-abiding, honest, citizens.

Cribbed from the Faux News talking points. Congratulations, you are well-informed on conservative fantasies!

You seem confused. I never said you said that.

Just the ones that came here illegally, and I’m even fairly non-committal on that (meaning that I don’t mind if a deal gets worked out where they can stay).

I posted his quote on all Social Media posts over the weekend. It was a great way to get dumb people to shut up

nevermind

Something sensible out of Washington, wow, that’s a relief. When it comes to funding for a mythical wall, I say we (quoting the Floyd) “make the bugger’s eyes water”.

“Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer took funding for President Donald Trump’s border wall off the table in negotiations over immigration issues with the White House, according to a Democratic aide. A staffer who works for Schumer called the White House on Monday and said the proposal, which Schumer put on the table during a Friday meeting with Trump, was no longer operative, the aide said.”

All in all you’re just
Another prick with no wall

Stolen from a protest sign.

People keep insisting Schumer lost this round when in reality he got 6 years of CHIP for a 3 week CR, which completely knee caps the GOP talking points. Trump said no to wall funding and vastly increased military spending. Now the wall is off the table and they don’t have the lives of American children to hold hostage. Not to mention McConnell blocking McCaskills bill for military pay. Now its DACA vs the wall in the next showdown, that is a MUCH better hand for the Democrats. I don’t see how this is anything but an absolute win.

Hmm. DACA has no chance of passing. Even if the Senate did pass such a bill, Ryan has already pretty clearly stated that the House won’t.

And then Trump will sign it? Yeah, good luck with that.

I’ve been surprised how strongly this narrative has developed in the media.

And then we got another shudown, except this time they don’t have the CHIP err chip to play.

Do the workers bear any responsibility, in your view?

And Pubbies won’t budge, and Trump won’t budge, and the shutdown will draw out, and the longer it goes on the worse approval will get for Dems and the more they will be blamed for it.

This is a /facepalm for Dems, and they walked right into it. I’m sure Trump and McConnell are both laughing, though not together.

I have no idea why you think that, Republicans get blamed for shutdowns by default, even more so now that they don’t have CHIP to use as a hostage.

Do they bear all the responsibility, in your view?

Personally, I suspect it’s some combination of fraudulent documents / identity theft by the DACA participants and look-the-other-way by the employers. In some individual cases, it might be all on the DACA participant or all on the employer, but looking at the two groups across many cases, I’d be shocked if we didn’t find a bit of both bearing at least some responsibility.

I think this is the clearest indication yet that the Dems lost the shutdown fight:

Dems sour on shutdown tactics
