Damn. He was so good as both a cop and a criminal. Don’t know if he was ever asked to play anything other than cops or criminals, but he had a great career doing that, and you don’t really have to play King Lear.
I think my favorite of his scenes was in the under-appreciated film Out of Sight . His character’s daughter is dating an FBI agent played by an uncredited Michael Keaton. He’s wearing a t-shirt that says “FBI”. Farina says:
*Hey Ray, do you ever wear one that says “undercover”? *
Thor would disagree with you.

Am I really the 1st Doper to commend his L&O work? He was great on that.
Nope. I did a few posts up. As have others.
Loved him in Midnight Run!
“You and the other dummy better get more personally involved in your work, or I’m gonna stab you in the heart with a pencil.”
RIP
I loved him in Law & Order. Reruns with him have been noticeably missing recently. Maybe they’ll show a few.
He’s gone home to get his fuckin shinebox in the sky.
Frank Vincent, who went on to play Phil Leotardo in The Sopranos , played the ill-fated Billy Batts in Goodfellas .

“Sidney - relax. Make yourself a sandwich, have a cream soda…do some fuckin thing.”
I saw him eating breakfast at Butterfields a few years ago. Everyone sort of did a double-take when they saw him, but pretty much left him alone.

One of my all time favorites. I’m shocked. Not trivialize his death, but he looked fab on the XFINITY commercials. I thought he had many more years and many more great parts to play.

RIP “Get Shorty” is one of my favorite movies ever. “Fuck you Fuckball” still makes me laugh just thinking about it.
Just Googled to find the clip and I didn’t even remember Harvey Keitel also says that line in the fake movie at the end.
“Is this moron number one? Put moron number two on the phone.”
The man had a genius for delivery. R.I.P., tough guy.
It didn’t occur to me until post 8 that I’d been thinking it was Dennis Franz that died.
Bummer either way.
Am I missing something? Someone else recently pass?

I am loving the Midnight Run quotes. One of my favorite movies.
"Don’t say a word to me, Sidney, don’t say a fucking word to me. I’ll get up and I’ll bury this telephone in your head. "
I think I’ll watch that again tonight.
Damn! Now I’ll never be able to cast him in the movie I want to make!
