Denver International Airport - Um...Yikes?

Dude. Woah. Scanning this article and a few others I found on snopes indicates that the “New World Order” sort of conspiracy put forth based on the construction and anomalies of the Denver International Airport is a bit wacko.

But still, even if it’s not run by evil, underground Mason Nazis, what is UP with those murals?

The murals depict Chrisitian, Black and Native American children in caskets, and stormtroopers with guns…an ancient Aztec symbol for the destruction of civilization…I mean, even if there’s no conspiracy at all (which, some of the ‘evidence’ seems a little humorously interesting, such as the runways shaped like a swastika!! ), why would the Art in the Airport be SO excessively morose?

J

I find it curious that he identified the blonde girl in the first casket as Jewish because she has a bible… with a cross on it. The “star” on her clothing appears to be a daisy.

Conspiracy therories are so entertaining.

According to the airport’s site::

From
this messageboard:

Let’s try to put away the tinfoil hats now, shall we?

Yeah…And maybe all those white triangular shapes on the terminal roofs aren’t supposed to represent

Teepees (as some claim)
or
Snow capped mountains (as others claim)

but are really pyramid temples to the illuminati

You want to back off a bit? I admitted in the OP that I thought it was crackpot, I just find the murals disturbing.

Just because someone asks a question about a conspiracy theory doesn’t mean they believe it.

sheesh.

Well, without the ominous lighting and carefully cropped excerpts, the murals look exactly like what they are descibed as: children mourning the death of aspects of the natural world and the horrors of hatred, and joining together to rebuild it. The colors are bright and the imagery is stylistic enough that I don’t find it particuarly disturbing.

Bizarre all the stuff they’ve come up with. There’s a ton of conspiracy sites about it. My god it’s bigger than Chemtrails!

When I read the tinfoil hat comment, I didn’t even pick up so much as a vibe that it was geared toward you. On the other hand, Maybe Ice Wolf is really a Mason who’s in on the whole thing and is devilishly using smoke screen tactics to throw everyone off the path of finding the “truth”.
In any event, thanks for the link. Similar to padeye, I find alot of entertainment values in conspiracy theories.

you keep your vibes to yourself, mr.

What I always find interesting is how people can believe that vast “secret” conspiracies would deliberately publish gratuitous clues to their existence in things like public artworks, media or corporate logos. Look, if I were running a vast conspiracy, I would be damned sure that any necessary public face or front I put up was as innocous and banal as possible. I sure wouldn’t spend a lot of effort constructing elaborate clues to be discovered by the tinfoil hat types.

[tinfoil hat]
Where do you think the Chemtrail planes take off from? Huh?
[/tinfoil hat]

But yabob, you’re looking at it the wrong way. These secret conspiracies put out those clues, not because they’re reveleaing themselves, but they’re giving false leads for the dangerous crackpots to follow. That does two things: first, it keeps these people busy on completely useless trails, and if you ever do (accidently) drop a true clue their credibility is going to be shot.

My theory is that there actually is a worldwide secret conspiracy, but it’s ok, since all they do is create fake conspiracty theories.

Unless, of course, I’m a member of that conspiracy, in which case the above statement is false.

Or maybe that’s what you WANT us to think!

Ease up and take a deep breath, jarbabyj. In looking for a sane link that actually describes the mural, instead of what the readers of Conspiracy Now! might see it as, I came up with quite a few paranoid, crackpot notions.

That’s who th’ jibe was aimed at, not yourself. Now, why would I say that of you?

Pax.

IRL, my father was an engineer on the DIA project.

all the rumors are true
ALL OF THEM!

The “tent” roof is supposed to be a stylized reprensentation of the Rockies. (Not the MLB team! The mountains.) Since Denver is “The Gateway to the Rockies.”

No one understands the murals. They just showed up one day…
don’t tell anyone I told you about my dad, they’ll hunt me down and make me read Mary Higgins Clark novels

Ooo, an inside source! So, NoClueBoy, what about the secret passages off the train tunnel? And the spinning propellers on the tunnel walls, those are sucking the thoughts out of my brain, right? I knew it! That’s why I always have “Yellow Submarine” running through my head if I have to take the train, that’ll teach 'em! Although sometimes the subliminal messages in the “now arriving” chimes throw off my rhythm…

And that “reprensentaion of the Rockies” story is as hogwash as the Illuminati pyramids one. It’s obviously a shrine to Boobzilla the Many-Breasted who will suckle her followers on her holy ambrosia when she rises to strike down the the unnatural Siliconed.

What oxygen deprivation? The air’s perfectly fine compared to that thick soup you “breath” at sea level! Hello gentlemen, my those are nice white coats you have. But what are you doing with that butterfly net?

They ever get the luggage thingee working right there?

This company reckons they got the luggage thing sorted out by 1997 – but funny, that’s the first thing I think about whenever I see that airport mentioned: all those embarrassing media reports of the brand new system gone wrong.

Maybe the murals are a distraction in case something else goes wrong?

I’ve met the guy who did that mural. For an art class we went to his studio. He was displaying another big mural, made on a portable wall of sorts. The guy’s big on the tradition of Mexican muralists like Rivera and such, where there’s lots of direct social commentary about capitalism and war and so on. The piece he was displaying had a couple panels, but one of them was a thing with all the flags of the world being sown into one, which I’m sure I don’t have to explain means that world government is a’ comin’.

…flags of the world sewn into one, that is.

Not that they were sowing flags, in order to reap the United Nations.
