Deodorant poll

I wear it most days, but if it’s below freezing and I’m just going to sit in my office, I sometimes don’t bother. Since I’m not sweating, it doesn’t matter.

I found the options for other people insufficient. I would have liked a choice along the lines of everybody’s different and should decide for themselves.

(I don’t wear deodorant myself. I find that bathing daily is sufficient. I don’t seem to sweat much except during exercise. However, if others feel they need deodorant, that’s their call. My choice is no reflection on them.)

Wow, where do you get it? I’ve never seen this but would love to have it.
For the OP, I do, and most people probably should, but I don’t think everyone needs it.

I used to buy it at Target, but since the economy went sour I can only find it at the health food store.

I wear deoderant every day and I often will swipe extra on at night or during the day on the weekend if I start to feel like I might stink. I even have some at the office.

I don’t always shower on the weekend if I’m just going to be hanging around the house (i like to give my hair a break from shampooing, but on those days I will always make triple sure I have on deoderant.

But I go the Suave, $2.97 for 2-pack way.

How do you know?

When we lived in western Maryland (until just a few months ago), we had a supermarket chain called Martin’s. About two years ago, Martin’s decided to go “upscale”. Part of this renovation was adding a couple of aisles of the kind of stuff you’d expect to find at Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. I forget what I was looking for in those aisles, but I found the anti-perspirant free, tea tree oil based deodorant I bought for my husband.

The only worse smell than a person who needs deodorant is a person who needs deodorant and is using deodorant.

I agree whole heartedly.

Brand? Link? I love tea tree oil…

I don’t wear it because my skin is very sensitive and it makes me break out. Doesn’t seem to be a problem though, when it’s come up people are shocked that I don’t. I’ve been asked before how it is that I don’t wear any and yet don’t stink.

If I’ve just waxed my underarms, I don’t feel the need to. It’s mostly when I’m, er, hirsute that I do. Which is ironic because I hate the feeling of dampish hairy underarms. Grody.

This is one that I happen to like: http://www.911healthshop.com/teatreoilsti.html

I answered “sometimes or mostly”, but I really kinda don’t. I use a deodorant stone, which is a mineral stone that simply keeps bacteria from growing in your sweat. You still sweat, but you don’t stink. It’s completely odorless, and you generally can’t tell that you’ve even applied it since there’s no residue.

I love it. I’ve been using the same stone for over five years now, and it seems to be about as big as it ever was. I use it after every shower, so roughly 3-4 times a week.

uh…

Well, I did use deodorant once over the summer, but believe me, if I needed it, my family would damn well tell me!

Deodorant vs. anti-perspirant are two different things imo. I stopped anti-perspirants oh, about 10 years ago and started using just deodorant… stopped deodorant a year or so ago. Eating a proper diet and taking the proper supplements means I don’t stink. I learned that the right combination of zinc. calcium, magnesium and vitamin D really cut down on smelliness.

So, while I marked “Most people should wear deodorant. Not everyone needs it, though” I really think if we all ate properly and got enough nutrients, almost No One would need it at all.

And, imo, anti-perspirants are bad for the system. But I won’t rant on about that
