How frequently do you wear deodorant?

A few questions…

Are you male or female? How frequently do you wear/put on deodorant? And how frequently do you shower? What age are you? Where do you live?
I’m not trying to be scientific, but it’d be nice to control for location/culture, sex and age. Maybe profession, too.

I’ve noticed some… Strange deodorant habits amongst my peers, but wide enough spread to make me think I’m the anomalous one.

Male. Every day. After my shower, which I also do every day. Likely older than you. Southern California.

Male, maybe twice a year, daily, 35, southern California. I have very sensitive skin and have neve found a deodorant that doesn’t make me break out.

Female 30 from Wisconsin. I shower every other day (unless i’ve been doing some strenuous physical activity), but use deodorant every day.

Generally thrice daily: once after the morning shower, once after the short bike ride to work, once after the post-ride-home, post-afternoon-workout shower. Sometimes I use more in the summer. Female, 24, New Mexico.

(I acknowledge that my hygiene habits could be seen as slightly neurotic, but since I commute by bike, I’m perpetually paranoid about BO.)

Male, 30, UK. Not even used deodorant once in my life.

40-ish male. Typically shower every morning, but will skip a day on some weekends. I apply scented antiperspirant every single day, even the odd day when I don’t shower (invariably a Saturday or Sunday if I don’t have anywhere to go).

Without showering, my hair gets motor-oil greasy in about 36 hours. Without antiperspirant, my pit sweat would show through anything short of a windbreaker.

Male, 31, Daily, Daily, Dallas, TX

You didn’t ask but I like to (over) share that I also use baby powder during the summer months because swamp ass is no laughing matter.

Male 49 y.o. Typically shower every morning, apply unscented deodorant/antiperspirant. If I shower again after workout, etc, I generally don’t reapply.

20-year old male living in Phoenix. Every morning. Until reading this board I assumed everyone else used it daily, too.

This, but adding my location as Boston.

There are times when I might not use any, but those will either be winter days when I expect not to sweat, or days when I know I’ll be doing the hermit thing.

After my morning shower every single day. What do you people do, work from home andlive all alone?

Male. Never. Every other day or immediately following sweaty activity. 33. DC.

European male, mid-40s

Unscented deodorant/antiperspirant: Apply every morning and after showering (unless I shower late in the evening).

Shower: Every 2-3 days, but I wash strategic high-BO-risk areas daily. And I think wearing shoes at home is just gross.

Female. Everyday in the morning (a second time if I’m going out at the end of the day). Probably every other day, but I only wash my hair twice a week. 24. California.

Are you male or female? Male
How frequently do you wear/put on deodorant? Daily (Unless it’s a lazy weekend day at home, for example.)
And how frequently do you shower? Same as above.
What age are you? 48
Where do you live? Canada

Male, 35. I shower daily. Deodorant goes on in the morning, post-shower. Or after an evening shower if I’m taking one before going out at night.

If I’m showering before going to bed, I don’t put deodorant on until the next morning. I don’t have any real explanation for that other than that it doesn’t feel right.

Once a day. More if I change shirts or end up having a mid-day shower instead of a morning or evening one. Shower every day/every other day, depending on activity levels, hair state, and whether or not I have to go out in public. Additional showers as needed (for instance, when I was down in Miami in August, it was two showers a day, period). 27 years old, female, Illinois.

Female, 23, swipe in the morning, swipe before the gym (sometimes) and swipe after post-gym shower. I shower every day in the winter and often 2x/day in the summer. Pittsburgh.

I work at a desk all day in an office and live with two people. Neither of the people I live with knew I’m not a regular deodorant user until it came up in conversation. Both asked “how do you not stink?”.
