I’ve stopped interacting with him completely after witnessing his assertions being corrected over and over and over. I can’t stomach the willfully ignorant.
I also find his worship of Israel to be disturbing, and this is coming from someone who has spent time in Jerusalem and Haifa and loves it there.

It’s like what clerics in Pakistan recently did in their fatwa allowing transgender marriage - only to those of the opposite sex.
There is also a huge disconnect between what the religious law in Iran says and what happens in real life. Transgender individuals have no protections under the secular law, and are widely ostracized, harassed, attacked, etc. by the general public. I’ve spoken to several Iranian transgender persons who say it’s really a terrible situation that only sounds good in Western media soundbites.
On the other hand, many of us white people in the U.S., are damn glad to have a president who is willing to say these things.
