Describe a city using only one-syllable words, try to guess other posters' cities

Based on its NBA team, San Antonio TX

  1. The city of the Swamp, which it seems we must drain

  2. The city where they call you ‘Hon’ when they serve you crab cakes

Washington and Baltimore?

Meat we use to make red sauce.

yes and yes

All I can think of is Paris, but as far as I’m aware it’s not on a strait, and I’m not aware of any major sports losses to bedevil the city’s fans. Maybe a Parisian team lost a big match or the French National Team lost one?

There’s a mall there that tweets memes on X – or at least some guy tweets in the name of that mall. Some of it was close to the big fire a week or so back. It has a lot more folks than you’d think for a town that’s not heard of much. There’s a town with the same name where they played a Big Game two years back. That town is by the town named for a bird on fire.

Also Washington, D.C., I think.

No and no. I thought mine was going to be easy!

This town has lots of schools, lots of old brick, and lots of folks who like to drink Iced Dunks, like Matt and Ben.

Gotta be Detroit, right?

The town I live in is in a dry place with lots of sand. We have cool plants here – some have spikes. It has been farmed for a long, long time. Most spots on this land mass have not been farmed as long. We try to keep our skies dark so that the stars can be seen well. Our town name comes from a word in a tongue that folks used to speak here. Some still speak it, but it is much more rare.

I’m near a made up line that stands for the end of one place and the start of a new place.

Quito?

I just looked at a map of Detroit, and I’ll be damned: the city’s streets do, in a way, mimic the Parisian model, but only to a point.

Boston

I’m thinking Taos, NM.

Correct

Nope.

Grab me a pint of the brown stuff (and make sure it’s got a good head) while I jam to the band as they play a Rare Old tune.

Taos is lovely, but not it.
