Describe a comedy as a tragedy (or a tragedy as a comedy) after guessing the previous one

I’ll start off with an easy one:

A down on his luck bus driver with a violent temper wastes his time on ridiculous get-rich-quick schemes while constantly threatening to beat his long-suffering wife.

It’s The Honeymooners.

An emo university student avenges his father’s death. The means to his end results in an epic fail: by the end of the story, all have fallen down.

Well, that’s Hamlet.

A financially aware attorney general’s plans to achieve massive fortune in the Old West is fatally flawed when his plans to use the prejudices of the people in his way against them backfires, causing them to ally themselves with the person he sent as their personal bete noire.

Blazing Saddles.
A gun fighter causes comedic situations in refusing to carry out his hired tasks.
