Designing the George W. Bush Library

If I were Bush- he won’t do this, but if I were Bush- I’d donate the papers to the Library of Congress for now and insist that the $500 million go to a trust whose interest would be used for rebuilding part of devastated Mississippi or in a fund to help the families of Guard Units deployed [perhaps rescuing the homes in foreclosure for these families] or some other fund to address some of the damage his administration has caused. ($500 million is of course nothing on the national level, but it’s a lot when concentrated.) It would be a great way to restore some credibility and dignity, and he can always build the Dubya Libary when the economy has recovered.

On a serious note, I wouldn’t be surprised if the library is a green building, i.e. enviromentally friendly. It’s not that I like W or think he is environmentally friendy at all (in fact he is on the short list of worst Presidents of all time), but his house, for example, is apparently eco-firendly and I would bet that they incorporate a lot of sustainability ideas into a library

The good news is that the library will offer retroactive immunity for overdue book fines!

Pssh…they won’t collect overdue book fines. That would require them to make public the contents of the collection. If your book is overdue, they’ll just kidnap you to a black ops base in Moldavia.

The bad news is the reference desk is in India.
