I thought you were going to mention the one that bothered me… When Susan told Mike outside that Jackson was still inside and had gone to use the bathroom, how did Mike know that he was using the staff bathroom and not the regular customer one.
Also, when Mike headed for the bathroom, he clearly noticed that it was locked from the outside, so when he went in why didn’t he notice that the window was smashed out and figure Jackson got out that way?
Between that and someone upthread mentioning that the paper towel dispenser was back on the wall I’m willing to bet either it was filmed out of order and the script supervisor wasn’t paying attention or there was another version where Jackson is the one to pass out in the bathroom.
The shot of the paper towel dispenser was from the left, but in the men’s bathroom, the dispenser was on the right-hand wall somewhat to the right of a corner. There probably wasn’t room to put a camera there to get the shot they wanted. Maybe they filmed the paper towel dispenser being taken off the wall in the women’s restroom instead.
Or, it was shot out of sequence… or the final sequence of events was edited around after the fact. Who knows?
Didn’t he pass out from smoke inhalation the second he got in the bathroom?

Dave has gone through a lot of trouble to get Mike into his “circle of friends.” He buys an expensive replacement guitar for Tom and leans on Lynette to let him jam with it in order to have a band at all, then buys a house and rents it to Mike after he was at first reluctant to play landlord, in order to get him to have the free time he’d need to join the band. As I recall, he also rejected a lot of otherwise suitable candidates for lead guitar in order to leave the spot open for Mike.

Dave’s ominous statement to Mike, at the end of this most recent episode, “I’m not done with you yet.”
What does it take to convince you? If this were Lost, I might expect an extremely red herring, but on DH, even if the outcome of a plot-line is not what you’d expect (e.g., Victor’s convenient death during the tornado), the mystery elements are usually pretty straight-forward.
It’s not that I’m dead set that he isn’t after Mike, I just prefer to remain cautious that we aren’t seeing a bunch of red herrings. I haven’t seen every episode this season so some of what you’re listing is news to me. It certainly sounds like he’s after Mike, but he could also just be forming a very unhealthy bond and really, really likes Mike in an insane way.
But you’re probably right.
cmkeller I strongly disagree. Desperate Housewives lives off the red herring. I think it’s Mike, because they’ve gone exceedingly far out of their way to tell us it’s Mike, but I absolutely will not be shocked if it’s not.
and I disagree right back. They only have one constant red herring: they constantly try to imply that ever-loyal Tom is cheating on or lying to Lynette, and he always turns out to be innocent in the end. Aside from that, they have mystery plots, but very few have red herrings, they just have unknown elements.
