Desperate Housewives 4/3

It’s on in ten minutes!

I read the synopsis of last week’s episode and thought it was a repeat because it referred to Maisy and her In-Home Business. :smack:

Waiting with anticipation…

And yet no posts.
I really don’t understand Susan. Why didn’t she just read the letter? Why did she go out with Bill?

Because that wouldn’t make as good drama.

Holy Moses, but did Gabrielle reinforce (3 or 4 times this episode alone!) why IMO she may be the most beautiful woman on the show and yet at the same time be the ugliest inside.

Nice that someone finally called Susan on her drama-seeking missile tendencies.

Nice that someone finally called Lynette on her meddlesome trouble-maker tendencies.

Whoa, Andrew. That kid is seriously messed up, although it looks like we may have a reason for his angst next week.

I’m glad Susan didn’t read the letter. I also think it was highly inappropriate of Alicia to use her hearing daughter to translate her problems with her husband to Lynette. And while Lynette may have been meddlesome, Alicia’s husband was being a jerk, and he needed to be called on it.

Susan not reading the letter is so out of character. This is a woman who has to know everything…who breaks into houses to satisfy her curiousity. Who is trying to solve a mystery that involves Mike. Who is crazy with lust for him. Who ransacked Mike’s house to learn his secrets. So he hands her the answer and she doesn’t read it? Right.

Yeah, we had a reason for his angst when he was making out with the gardener’s male friend in the pool about 4 episodes ago (which was probably more than 2 months ago, the way they dribble these shows out).

Anyway, I was wondering when they were going to do something with that storyline. I also wonder what’s going to happen to him now that mother-in-law finally kicked. I’m sure that was the reason they sent him away right now.

I feel so bad for Bree (she’s my favourite character. Should tell you a little about me) Her son is so messed up, but I think she and Rex did the right thing. I’m kind of disappointed that Susan didn’t secretly rip open the letter and read it because I really thought she would.

They’ve drifted away from the original mystery in the show; what happened to Mary Alice/Angela, the corpse under the pool and the baby? I’ll be very annoyed if this turns out to be like Twin Peaks where the original mystery of Laura Palmer’s murder was never solved.

Laura Palmer’s murder was solved.

Yeah, this ticked me off. I hate when writers make characters act out of character to advance the plot – even worse when they do it for no reaason other than to “heighten” the drama. You can’t have all questions and no answers because if you don’t pay things off, people get tired of waiting. Trust me, I used to read X-Men, I know what I’m talking about.

I think it’s just as reasonable to consider Susan’s not reading the letter to be a sign of a change to her character as it is to call it out of character. A big theme of the ep was her seeking out drama. Edie called her on it a little, her daughter called her on it a little at the funeral procession and Bob the Builder or whatever his name was called her on it a lot. So she recognized she is a drama addict and took the first step toward breaking her addiction. I’m OK with it.

Yep. Two other shows this year, “Lost” and “Veronica Mars” had episodes where viewers could learn the answer to a mystery except nosy characters decided, at the last moment, not to get answers that were offered them.

But if this is the sign of a change in Susan, I’m all for that. And nothing could drive Mike crazier than having his letter returned so that actually isn’t as out of character for Susan as it may seem.

I love this show.

I think this episode was good- not as good as usual, but good.

I agree that it is very out of character for Susan to not open that letter and I disagree that this is going to bring about an overhaul of her character. Susan is the nosy one. There’s the slutty one (Edie), the perfect one (Bre), the beautiful one (Gab), the overworked, semi normal one (Lynn). Who would Susan be if she wasn’t the nosy one who keeps messing up her life? I wish she would have just read the letter and hashed it out with Mike. I’m sure she will eventually, but I want some resolution, damnit! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lynnette was totally right in calling out that deaf woman’s husband. Lynn had the huevos to confront the husband, but didn’t explain the situation completely when confronted by the woman. Oh well, I think she did the right thing, regardless of how it turned out.

Gabbie is so selfish. Beautiful, but selfish. (Totally off topic, but I read in a magazine she has a 24 inch waist…sheesh!). We all know Gabbie is going to get back together with gardening boy, thus causing her husband to murder the entire block  (kidding).

When Bree’s son spit in her face, my friend and I just looked at each other and said, “Oh hell no! That kid would be dead.” That pretty much sums up my feeling on that!

Okay, somebody PLEASE!! How did Mama Soliz die? She was pounding on the counter at the hospital, I ran to let the cat out, it was in commercial when I came back, and she was dead. Wha happened?

She slipped on the wet floor where the lottery-playing custodian had mopped and went ass-over-teakettle down a few flights of stairs. She landed in a crumpled heap near the nursie, who was sneaking a cigarette. Nursie ran over to her and with her last breath Mama Soliz gasped “tell my son his wife is cheating on him” and then shuffled off the mortal coil. However, the nursie was wearing headphones and didn’t hear a word.

Not quite sure how to do Spolier tags, but…

Mama Solis walked the halls, looking for anyone. But due to negligence by the Security Guard, Night Nurse, and Janitor, no one was available. Finally salvation appeared. A payphone, just down the hall. She pulls the iv out, and shuffles as fast as she can!

But she slipped on the freshly cleaned floors, slid into the stairwell, fell, and broke her neck. The night nurse found her. Mama Solis’ last words were “Tell my son his wife is cheating on him.”

But the night nurse was wearing headphones, and heard nothing.

Not sure which Lost mystery you mean but VN I assume you mean VM’s decision to shred the results of her and Keith’s DNA test? I don’t fault her at all for that decision. Can you imagine being confronted at age 17 with the idea that the man you’ve known and loved your whole life as your father might not be?

Thanks. Wow. Just, wow.
It’s a shame they couldn’t draw it out a bit more with her. Maybe bring her back from her coma unable to speak, something. That woman was seriously evil; she added a lot to the show.
