Don’t forget that Tom was going out with Annabelle when he had an affair with Lynette…
and Lev, I recall reading an interview with several of the men on the show, and they speculated that several of them weren’t going to be around next season (Carlos in jail, etc…)
Okay, a bit more info on the “what state is it in” deal: I rewatched the courtroom scene.
The seal behind the judge was almost unreadable, but it said either “Scales of Justice” or “Halls of Justice” or something like that. So, no help there.
However, at the back of the courtroom, when John enters, a big seal is visible that says, “Seal of the Great Eagle State - 1876”. The only state that joined the union in 1876 was Colorado. While I hadn’t ever heard of Colorado being called “the Great Eagle State”, there is an Eagle County in Colorado, for what that’s worth. And Colorado shares a border with Utah, where Mary Alice/Angela and her family used to live.
So, the evidence there seems to point to Colorado. However, Colorado does have the death penalty, although it’s been used only once since 1977. So, it appears that they don’t actually live in any real U.S. state.
I’ve been seeing the actor who played Rex on a few talk shows and he seems pretty okay with his character being dead. He said he kinda knew it would only last a year or two at the most. Jay Leno asked if he could come back as a ghost or what, “Rex” answered that there was talk about doing flashbacks but that’s doubtful so he’s done. He’s also doing a role on The West Wing so he’s not hard up. If his character is not really dead he would need to know that much and if that’s the case he is an excellent poker player.
By the way, I heard that it’s a fictional state with weather like California.
I finally got around to viewing the finale, and I hope I’m bumping the right thread, but I have a theory about Rex’s death.
What if Andrew did it?
They’re making it very obvious that George the Pharmacist poisoned Rex… too obvious? Let’s examine Andrew (curiously missing for several episodes leading up to Rex’s death… misdirection??) :
He’s shown himself to be an awful monster, capable of killing another human being (Carlos’s mother) and simply shrugging it off.
Has an undying hatred of his mother.
Seems to like his father, but told the priest “my parents are such tools”.
Also told the priest that his mission in life is to destroy his mother. Is there anything he could do which would top killing off his mother’s husband?
From a TV producer’s perspective, hiding Andrew from the final episodes so we forget about him, making the inept pharmacist an obvious murderer, and the priest scene railing on about destroying his mother, would make a good, shocking twist in a series that has proven itself to be pretty proficient in that regard.
