Desperately seeking bankers.......

As some of you may know, I am looking to move to the US. I am hoping to find a job in the banking industry because that is where I have worked for the past 18 months and I am really enjoying it.

And so to the point. I was wondering if anyone worked in the banking industry, or knows someone in said industry who might be able to answer a few general questions. I am trying to research the industry so that I will have as much prior knowledge as possible when I get interviews (of course I will add to this with company specific information too when the time comes). I am particularly interested in IT in banking, the kind of software used etc, to see how my skills match up.

Would anyone here who works in banking be willing to talk with me? Even if you are not in the IT end of things, it would help me to talk with you. What I am looking for is just someone to email a few questions to so that I can
find out more about American banking.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hey, it is my future at stake here, too.

I worked for Chase Manhattan for over five years. I’d be happy to help, if I can. Email me.

See, if you had said “desperately seeking wankers,” or “desperately seeking spankers,” and then in the OP you said “oops, meant Bankers,” you’d be getting all sorts of hits here. Something to think about.

I’ve been in banking about 15 years, though not specifically in the IT areas. I’d be glad to answer your questions as best I can.

Damn…where were you last night when we were trying to think up something catchy? Rick and I just aren’t dirty-minded enough.
