I have a neighbor who has several Liberty head nickels dating from 1912 to 1916. She is wondering if they have any value. Can anyone advise as to how to go about finding the value of these coins?
Thanks in advance for any help.

They made “V” nickels from 1883-1912.
All the ones from 1900-1912 in average condition are worth about $1 each.
The rare date is 1885, and to a lesser degree 1886.
Thanks, samclem. My neighbor (an older lady by the way, and not computer savvy) tells me she has newspaper clippings showing that a 1913 Liberty head nickel was auctioned for $46,000 dollars, and she has asked me to see if you’ve ever heard about it and/or if you would have any idea why it went for this amount.
1913 Liberty head nickel sells for $3 million. There apparently exist only five known 1913 Liberty nickels, hence the massive price tag.
Thanks very much, Q.E.D. I just phoned and gave her the bad news as of course she doesn’t have one of the 1913 “V” nickels.
Thanks again for your help.
