Devil May Cry, WOW!!...

This is by far the best pure action game I have played on any system since Smash TV. The controls are awsome, awsome sound, awsome graphics, awsome mood. (Did I just spell awesome wrong three times?)

The only thing that bugs me is that it does not have fully customizable controls. There is just no excuse for that in any game.

Either way, f you just wanna shoot the hell out of some shit, get this game. You wont be disappointed

I was wondering about the “combo” feature. Is it hard to execute a combo?

I dont think so. I just got it a few hours ago and havent gotten very far but I keep mashing the buttons and he does some cool stuff. You can jump and unload you gun in the air. Its very fun. At least rent it if you want an action fix.

I’m gonna get this game in a day or two, so it’s really a pointless question, but is there unlimited ammo for your guns? Because, man, if the spider boss (level 1?) is any indication, you have to unload some major pain on these guys…

yeah, you get unlimited ammo. I am at that spider right now and have died about 20 times. He is tough. I cant beat him yet. Very hard IMHO this spider is. The room is too cramped to really run around him. I may just suck though.

I’m ashamed that I like such a stupid game SO much. I mean, in the opening cutscene she throws a motorcycle at the guy. And the floating skulls that circle you underwater look like something out of an Amiga hacker’s demo. I’d normally point at a game like this as everything that’s wrong with the videogame industry, but it’s just too damn much fun.

And being able to slash guys into the air and then juggle them with your guns before they hit the ground… that’s just classic. I’ve played through from the beginning up to the spider about 4 times now and still can’t get past it.

As for combos, I’ve only seen one so far: slash twice with your sword, wait about a second and a half, then keep hitting the circle button. It does a super-fast poke attack with a lunge finisher.

Well, I dunno if they beefed him up for the final release, but at E3, people were having great success with just jumping on him and slashing away w/ the sword. Dunno if that’ll help or not, but it’s worth a shot.

The camera angles really chap my hide sometimes. There are times when I have a hard time finding passages or doors because of the stupid camera angle. For example in Mission 11 I’ve found a chalice but I’m in a sealed room and I have no idea what to do with it. I can’t find the exit and I know there’s on in there somewhere. ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

I made it past the spider. He was tough. I ended up just running around the room and making quick jabs at him with my sword. I was ready to go on another killing spree after him, but there ends up being like three more bosses in a row. This game is paced perfectly. Just when you think you cant beat a guy, you end up taking him down and pressing on.

Fun game.
