He was also completely ignored at the restaurant. No “you sure I can’t get you anything” while she filled Colin’s coffee or anything a waitress might say to make sure everyone at a table’s being taken care of.
Yeah, I made a point to pay special attention and in those scenes featuring Olmos, and the girl never looks at or acknowledges Olmos’ character in any way at the restaurant or when she is tied up at the house. I am convinced that the speculation upthread is right that he is the equivalent of Dexter’s dad, a memory of a dead mentor in the mind of Hanks’ character.
So do we think that Hanks’ character killed the professor?
That was at least what I thought after the last episode – when they were praying in the church, for a second, Olmos’ head was bloodied, or at least Hanks’ character saw it that way (so there’s also a clear precedent for him having visual hallucinations).
If so, this will be the first time a hallucination communicated via cell phone.
If you’re gonna hallucinate a whole person, I don’t think hallucinating a phone call stretches things too far.
For me it only does because the hallucination answered in a remote location (the church).
Can we talk about Ryan stealing the hand? They’ve dealt with it in either two or three episodes now so they have to be going somewhere with it as well as bringing in Ryan just to do that.
Also, didn’t Dexter do a lot of evidence tempering back in the first two seasons when there was a different lady running the evidence locker? I thought she was getting this stuff for him under the table. Yeah, it was the lady who he brought the key lime pie to in the hospital. I’m wondering if there’s going to be a tie in with that. Perhaps the hand will turn up, they’ll find that it’s gone from the evidence and during some sort of investigation they’ll find all the boxes of evidence that Dexter messed with. Could that wind up be his downfall?
She was just records - not evidence.
But yeah - something about this is going to come back later - too much set up - I suspect that the second intern messing with computer records will be the more problematic of the two.
2 episodes with no one on Dexters table…wtf is with the insane amount of time spent on bs drama with the rest of the boring cast?
ok its not 100% terrible but some of the lines they are feeding Batista are truly bad. like star wars bad.
I recall her being a file clerk, not someone getting him boxes of physical evidence. I don’t recall that he ever dug into old blood samples and such – he always seemed to either get it fresh or maybe to get some report from a file.
But the new intern… he seems quite old and too experienced to be an intern. What’s up with that?
Okay, yeah, it was a file clerk. I remember she kept avoiding the file about his mom’s death. IIRC, when she pulled some of the files for the people Harry was sleeping with (or maybe it was detectives, I don’t remember), I recall her warning him that he might not want to read them…or maybe she was telling that to Deb. Either way, yeah, file clerk. So, that blows my theory.
But still, they have to be going somewhere with it. Not only did they spend quite a bit of time on it, they still managed to keep Vince a one trick pony.
Have you never seen Fight Club?
I thought we didn’t talk about fight club
Well played sir. :dubious:
I love Deb more and more as Dexter carries on. Even after Laguerta’s sabotage plan backfired and she left the Captain’s office on a high, she was still limping in those heels.
I really hope Dexter (the character) doesn’t actually get religious. This is not a show I watch for moral preaching.
What new male intern? The only intern is a young female.
Nope, she’ already history, for selling evidence from the police storage room on ebay. The new guy is her replacement.
Um, I’ll spoil this in case you didn’t see the last two episodes…
Ryan (the young blond girl) stole the Ice Truck Killer hand from the evidence box and put it up on an online auction site. Vince got wind of it and fired her. That all happened last week. Yesterday he introduced us to his new intern a guy that has proven to be quite the hacker. He made the auction disappear (or something like that).
Ah! I thought I was up to date, but it seems I’m one behind. Better back away from the thread.
So do you think Brother Sam is dead or just seriously wounded?
