What is Hawkwoods?

Hawkwood is a medieval faire similar to Scarborough, except with more of a fantasy element (although I couldn’t tell how that affected anything last year) For more info: http://hawkwood.org It is on 35W N. of Ft. Worth: http://hawkwood.org/map.htm
Looking at the schedule, there is a fiddler at the Green Man Pub at 3:00 - let’s meet at 2:45 at the pub which will give enough time for us to chat some beforehand and stragglers can join us while we watch the show. Let me know if you are coming and haven’t been listed yet, so we know to wait for you.
I printed out the directions and unless something unexpected comes up, I’ll be there.
I hope JimB brings extra cash, I’m still counting on him to buy me a beer.

OK - Here’s my spiel:
I leave Richardson for Oklahoma City at noon Friday, which should put me there by 4. The Al show is at 7, and will probably be over around 10 or 11… I plan to hang out backstage and do my very best job of not acting like a groupie while still getting to meet him and tell him he’s God and get him to sign my accordion… If we’re not too tired, I’m driving back the same night, which means I’ll get home around 5 or 6. If I sleep til noon, I oughtta be able to make it to Hawkwood.
Alternate plan: Find a motel room in OK City and drive directly to Hawkwood when I get up. Any thoughts?

Jim: Cavaliers are god for killing goats. Back in high school, my best friend drove a (sort of golden colored)Cav and one day, while driving and digging in the floorboard for a tape, hit a goat. The goat died immediately, but his bumper was dented. That was the only damage. We called his car the Golden Goat until he got rid of it a couple of years later.
Since I won’t be able to make it in person, my drunken ass will be there in spirit. So, whoever’s taking notes can attribute this story to me at that time. Sorry about the hijack. Have fun at Hawkwood.

As I was telling JimB and Balance at the last Dopefest, I am performing at a small show a friend of mine is putting on this Sunday.
Detail are:
3 to 4 PM at KC Dance Studio in N. Dallas.
The address is 3701 W. Northwest Hwy, however the studio is actually on Webb Chapel Rd(Note, not extension, which is where Goldfingers is - it’s a couple of blocks east). It is on the 2nd floor of a building that has a store called “Rainbow” and a restaurant called “Chula Vista” on the first floor.
There will be many beautiful women doing extraordinary things in this show! Hope to see some of you there!
