Isn’t that a line from Good Will Hunting?
Don’t do the nasty. Just some friendly support from your neighborhood Ag.
I’ve never seen Good Will Hunting, so I’m not sure.
I dunno Grace…
Ag, not going there! Not for a good long while…I’m sick of selling out too fast so I’m taking my sweet time!

Dammit!! You mean i missed an opportunity last monday?
Doh!

I love jambalaya, and I’ll bring a bottle of my home-brewed mead.
What the hell’s not to like about rice?
Whatever, m’man. Howsabout I save back some of the sausage and grill it for you? Or you can just root around in the fridge and pick whatever carton of leftovers looks most appealing.
It looks like we’ve settled on Menu A. Trust you folks to pick the more expensive one. pretends to glower
Does anyone want a green salad to go with it?
and John, what the hell does mead taste like? And don’t say “Chicken” or I’ll deliberately let the jambalaya burn on the bottom and give you the scorched part.
Jim. Palmyra. Both of you expressed interest in the game last Saturday. There’s another one Friday and another Sunday. Interested?
Ooo, goodie - I was going to vote for jambalaya myself.
Mmmmmm, jambalaya and bread pudding!
BTW - rjk is more of a beer drinker(right?), but he doesn’t know about beers around here and I don’t know beer at all. Any suggestions? A friend suggested Fat Tire
Hey Zyada. Between Jim, Balance, SkySlash(if he comes), and myself, we should be able to cover the beer. We’ll be bringing extra anyway.
What a vicious threat! I was only mildly tempted to say “chicken” anyway. Mead is honey wine. It’s sweet and deceptively smooth, with a definite honey flavor and hints of vanilla and cloves. It’s best served at room temperature or just slightly cooler. I plan to get Grace thoroughly wasted on it.

thank goodness you didn’t mention a secret ingredient. I guess it’s safe to assume that you don’t strain it through a dirty sock or a dirty pair of underwear, eh?
Oopsie.
Hey, I run a clean operation here. I drink this stuff myself, you know!
For the record, the following things make an appearance in my mead-making process:
honey (1.25 gallons)
water
Irish moss (a coagulent to remove proteins from the honey)
citric acid (pH is important to yeast)
yeast (and yeast nutrient, which is also yeast)
gypsum (a clarifying agent)
vanilla
crushed cloves (in a tea strainer)
All solids are removed with the sediments, and fermenting takes place in sterilized glass carboys. Now you can all sample without fear…hehehehe…
Ag, i’d love to go to a game friday. I think this time my brain will kick in and i’ll get your email addy from your profile in case my network screws up again.
I’m e-mailing you my info now.
Jim. Sunday?
Yes, I generally drink beer instead of wine, but that mead sounds interesting, for one taste anyway.
And jambalaya is great stuff! Will there be crawfish pie too? Filé gumbo? Big fun on the bayou?
(Yes, it’s a slow night here at work.)
I lauged and I’mnot at work.
Hey rjk. I just noticed you were from Canada. You guys have good beer. Just an observation. I’ll introduce you to Shiner Bock, though.
That’s some good stuff.
