Stopped by the Dallas farmer’s market this morning to buy tomatoes for the creole sauce. Man, it sure is different there early in the morning…not a soul was shopping except me. I guess the restaurant guys had already come and gone.

Seriously, I’ll be happy to put you back on the list. I bought all the ingredients last night; tonight I’m baking the pie shells and making the filling, and tomorrow afternoon I’ll assemble and bake them so they’ll be done just in time for dinner.
I’ll tell you what, if Andrea says it’s okay, I’ll make out with her.

Should she be calling Beakerxf to find out some pointers on what kind of techniques you like?

Anyhoo, I have 2 tickets and a blue parking pass for the Cowboys game on Sunday (noon). Brian and I can’t make it so I thought I’d see if any of our Dallas Dopers would like these tickets. I know it’s short notice but if anyone would like the tickets, you are welcome to them. I can bring them to dinner tomorrow.
Well, it’s past two in the morning, the dining room is all set, the bread pudding is assembled and waiting to be popped in the oven, the creole sauce is simmering on the stove, the dishes are washed, and I am by God going to BED.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow more than you folks could realize. I have always loved cooking for a big crowd… even though I make myself crazy in the days leading up to it, once everything’s done and I sit back, basking (hopefully) in the admiration of all… man, that’s sweet.
Apologies for dropping off the face of the Earth here the last couple of days; I would definitely like to attend.

I was wondering if anyone knew who made the wine served at this party? It was a Gewurztraminer, but eVineyard showed different wineries. I remember someone saved the label so I was hoping he/she still had it.
Grace, there’s a bottle of Fetzer Vineyards Echo Ridge Gewurztraminer in my wine rack that i think is left over from this party.
