Oh, well, I did start in on that then. It’s just Chef Troy had ‘said it first’, a bit earlier, I thought. Ah, well.
My shoulder did hurt the next day, and my second game was even worse than the first. Of course, who really goes bowling just to ‘score’? I just went to have fun, and I certainly succeeded on that score.
Actually, the all-rice menu was a jab at JimB, who doesn’t like rice - and some of the menus I’ve served at previous get-togethers have included Shrimp Creole (over rice), Jambalaya, cuban-style black beans and rice… you get the idea. Also, we recently got together for my birthday at a chinese restaurant which has been known to serve rice on occasion. I have in fact never made rice pudding. Anyway, isn’t it a little hot outside to be making ham & beans?
However, my arroz con pollo IS ambrosial, and I DO have a paella pan. Mmmmmmmmmm, saffron…
Zia, avoiding rice at the House of Troy is very difficult. I always have to give him a hard time about it. But, at least this time I didn’t have to stop by Wendy’s on the way home.
[sub]Just kidding, Troy.[/sub]
Thank you for not complaining about how much I talk. Y’all should give thewiz bonus points for carpooling with me. Not only did he get me there earlier than ever, but he also had to listen to me talk the entire way to and from Troy’s house. I’m pretty sure I looked in the mirror and saw the twins contemplating a Rockford roll out of the Expedition just to get some quiet time.
