D(on M)'s Zealot cleared out most of the Matron’s Den with no help from me. I came in to help at the end, but he didn’t seem to need much help. You’d have to ask him why his char had an easier time with it than any other char. I’m just reporting.
I might do this later today.
If you end up playing today, post here, and I might be able to join you. Also, what account name are you going to set up?
Oh, and make sure it is a ladder character on Softcore USEast, that’s where we play.
Don’t hold on to D torches for me; that character is about level 19 and I haven’t played him in months. Now that I’m back from the Southern Hemisphere, I may be able to play a little more often.
I don’t think anybody but me has played in weeks, and I’ve been so busy with school that I’ve mostly been perming mules.
Yeah, I have a new game I’ve been playing a lot. I can be on any given night, though, if folks want me.
Hey all - I saw the thread, and realized that I’m only playing about 4 other games right now, and it wouldn’t be anything more than a catastrophic idea to load my D2 discs onto my new computer and join up.
If I did so, could someone just tell me what character to start up? Something that if I show up people say, “Hey, that’s helpful!” but if I don’t show up people say, “damn, it sure would be really handy/essential for Munch to be here…”. Maybe something new - I’ve had my fill of Amazons, Barbs, Necros and Pallys. (I’ve honestly never played much of any of the others - Druids kind of bored me.)
Note: This is not a guarantee I’d join up, I’m just thinking about it.
I think we have pretty much all the essential bases covered with the characters we already have (either communal or on the accounts of folks who are often on). If you want to make an assassin or sorceress, go right ahead. In particular, if you want to be a martial arts assassin, we’ve got tons of gear available to use, since nobody’s made one of those yet (we have a good amount of gear for sorcs and other classes, too, but there are multiple sorcs using the best of it already).
At this point, the only thing we really lack is people playing. So when you show up, there probably won’t be people to say either way. So if you want to play, play whatever you want and we can deck you out with great gear. I usually have a character logged on (*Rucksinator6 is my account) just in case Uber D shows up, but I’m pretty busy with school and work myself. So just holler and, if I’m on, I’ll give you equipment.
Can you run a smiter? If so, here’s an option: We do an Uber run and whatever torch we get, that’s what character you build.
Well that was quick. I alt-tabbed away for about 5 minutes, and when I came back, Diablo Walks The Earth. I’ll give you guys the time it takes me to smoke.
ETA: I’m in SDMB4, BTW. I only got 3 messages: “11728 …” and “11760…”, and “Diablo Walks…”
Got a pretty weak anni, but it is an anni nonetheless. 11, 14, 7. It’s on my trapsin for whoever needs it.
Yeah, I found a copy of Civ III and that’s been my timesuck. I may or may not be back in the near future/
While my main computer is in for repairs, I’ve been indulging in a little Diablo II again. Good times.
What a coincidence; I just started playing that again, too. This game I ended up as the only one on my starting landmass, and it’s a nice big landmass and pretty fertile, too. Plus, I got a settler out of a goody hut on, like, the third turn. By the time I even met anyone else, I already had a higher score than the next two players combined, and nobody’s so much as issued me an ultimatum, much less declared war.
Well, I woke up this morning and there were 2 SOJ sale messages topped with “Diablo Walks the Earth”. I though maybe I was still in that same game, but I knew I had made a new one.
Anyway, this anni is 14, 16, 8 and is on my necro.
I’m in SDMB6 and just got “Diablo Walks the Earth”. But my game is kinda laggy.
In the time that it took me to write that, I got kicked out, and now SDMB6 doesn’t exist. Battle.net is nutty.
Ah well. It’s not like we’re short on anni’s.
By the way, if you run short of places to put them, the enchantress could use one. I think that +skills helps an enchantress more than any other character in the game, in the long run.
If all she needs is skills, then she can have the 11, 14, 7 on my trapsin the next time somebody else is playing.
I know- those early starting pushes make a huge difference. Corruption and max civ size is such a harsh limit compared to Civ II. I love the real differences between civilizations, though.
