Diablo 2 - Who thought up this con job?

It was nice meeting you “in game” Absoul, and again Happy Birthday!

I think I put my user names in the Diablo 2 thread in the Cafe Society, but they are:

numbnut
numbnut1
numbnut2
and numbnut3

The thread is up to 9 pages now, but several SD members put their usernames in it.

I haven’t, but I have heard of Knight of the Old Republic, so my previous comment was not entirely accurate. Still, I’m heartily sick of games getting billed as Role-Playing Games that don’t involve any actual role playing. And 99% of console “RPGs” are pre-rendered plot scenes broken up by extended leveling fests that have zero bearing on the outcome of the plot, beyond making the character powerful enough to get to the end of the game and kill the final Foozle. They can still be fun, but they ain’t role-playing.

My point is, Peter Molyneux has some awesome ideas, but the implementation is sometimes not so great. Fable is perhaps the most ambitious game ever, so it may be the coolest game of all time, or it may fail horribly. It may even manage to do both at the same time.

D2 is the only game I’ve been able to get into. I think, like the others said, it’s the shopping. It’s finding the cool stuff and selling it. And deciding where to put gems and the satisfaction of killing a champion (or whatever) and getting a nice pickup.

I think I’ll play now. It’s a great time waster!

You dejected guys do not know the wonderful art of modding. You can choose to turn your plod and click game into “AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! Monsters after meeee!!! What do I do???”

absoul, that is basically the story of my life too, except today instead of doing 50 meph runs I rushed a character and then sat in cows. I hit level 54.

I’m going to level 80 or so with this guy. Bstar, herald, guardian angel, etc. Auradin with staying power:)

i once had a level 6 character in hell/hell. then i’ll find one of those pk games and harvest some ‘??!’.

Also amusing is hostiling the room in a norm cows game. At level 9 (lowest level possible to hostile at).

I haven’t made my level 9 dueler yet, but I’ve got plans.

Oh, yes! I’m waiting on Geneforge 2 to come out. I haven’t played Avernum, but I was unbelievably hooked on Geneforge.
