Glad you’re restin’ and everything seems to be goin’ ok LiLi. Tell Muppet we said hi and that she is responsible for any forthcomin’ news. My other friend who was also expectin’ twin girls had her’s on Thursday. Robyn and Claire are healthy and weighed almost five pounds each at birth. My friend has a three year old boy who’s bein’ a proud big brother right now. We’ll see how much that changes when his sisters get home. Bonnie (the mom) is doin’ fine and grandma here is bouncin’ off the walls. She’ll be headed out to Colorado on Tuesday for a few weeks and is like sittin’ on her suitcase at the front door all ready to go.
We brekkied, then I ironed some shirts. That’s been the excitatement around heah. I did not have a hangover this mornin’ btw. I went beddybye pleasantly buzzed and woke up feelin’ wunnerful. OYKW has gone nappy bye. I think I may join him.
Good afternoon! We left early this morning for breakfast followed by a trek to Reston VA to a fish store. We returned with a fish and a bunch of corals, which are now being acclimated. We also got (at a different place) a fountain thingie that we’re hoping the cats will drink from, so they don’t bother us when we go into the bathroom. Yeah, right.
Dreary, chilly, generally ick day. Rain has been promised. I’m thinking it’ll be a good knit-in-front-of-TV day. My sweetie leaves mid day tomorrow, and I’ll be without adult supervision till Firday - woohoo!! I’m going to visit my mom on Tuesday, and go for an eye exam on Weds, but the rest of the week is free. Come on by - I’ll be lonely…
The soccer game was awesome. The team has come a long way since last year and my best friend’s son is getting really good at being a goalie.
Now I’m back home and cold and tired but too lazy to make a fire and too busy to take a nap. Back to the chemistry book.
Afternoon all. My plan for a lazy Saturday has been not so much. I was up at 6.15 this morning as I just could not sleep. I have done 3 loads of laundry with the fourth load in the machine now, been to Walmart for a few things, had a gloriously relaxing pedicure and my toenails are now a dark gothic purple with sparkles, Skyped with the parental units, roasted poblano pepper and a bunch of tomatillos ready to make green enchiladas tomorrow, loaded the dishwasher which is now running and scanned all of our tax docs ready to upload to the to the people that my company pays to do my taxes this year as I moved from overseas in 2010. Now I am going to enter a bunch of info into the site for the taxes. Good times!
mr ems has gone to check something at work, then he is going to purchase the winning powerball ticket for this evening abd by beer on the way home as we are out.
Tonight we have a Groupon for a Cajun place that we are going to use then tomorrow I do not plan on getting out of my jammies.
Am posting from the Women’s Lounge at the Union at Michigan State. I used to study here A LOT. Nice to see it’s still here. Brother and the boys have gone swimming. I’ma work for a bit. Big fun.
Hang in there, LiLi. Wednesday will be here in a flash.
We went to my granddaughter’s birthday party today at a place called FunPlex. We had pizza and cake and ice cream, and they had rides and a place with ball pits and giant slides and climbing nets and stuff. Plus a bowling alley and skating rink! It’s all indoors under one roof, which is great since it’s been raining for 3 days. The zoo idea got rained out.
The grownup boys went to bowl after pizza and cake and prezzies, while the womenfolk and kids followed the chilluns around while they rode rides. It was lots of fun! Faye cleaned up! I thought one of the coolest gifts was a set of real golf clubs for kids - in pink! She loves to golf with ReboSon, and now they can go to the practice range together.
I also went to the grocery store to get stuff to make chili for the Annual Superbowl Chili Cook-off at our sports bar. Mr Rebo has entered three years in a row, and came in 3rd, 2nd, and no place last year. So I’m gonna come home with the 1st place trophy this year! ::crosses fingers::
Sorry I haven’t been around much this week - but I’ve been trying to keep up. Work has been nutz!
One thing I definitely remember - best wishes for an easy birth, LiLi!!!
Congrats Pearl and Ed! Or to be correct about it, Best Wishes Pearl and Congrats Ed.
I’ve always found that to be an odd custom. It’s like sayin’ to the future bride, "good luck dealin’ with that and sayin’ to the future groom, “dunno know how you got her to agree but I suspect drugs.”
There is a bathroom attached to the women’s lounge, but there’s also a huge study area with couches and tables and chairs. There was great controversy in the 70s about whether it was fair to have a space just for women. It’s still there 40ish years later.
Went for a walk on campus, then had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, then went to a show at the planetarium and then to the arcade for a little while. It was fun. Now I’m very sleepy.
A delayed reaction from yesterday morning… ARGHHH!
My surgeon’s office called about two hours before my post-op appointment to reschedule as Doc had to do emergency surgery. So now, I see him on Tuesday. Hopefully, this doesn’t delay my return to work.
We move in three weeks, and already, it’s getting irritating. Just about everything that’s not the TV or the bed has been either packed up or re-positioned somewhere.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 76 or 78 dependin’ on which weather thingy ya wanna believe.
Rosie IBM has a stadium?
gotti sucks about the reschedule. Hope everything goes well though. I’m with ya on movin’. I don’t even wanna think about it much less do it.
gt I still picture ya hunkered down in a stall crammin’ for your Chem final.
Tomorrow is MOG’s day of natality. Today is brunch Sunday at the church house so we got her a cake. She knows. It has a picture of her with Baby Girl on it and has written on it “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixty.” So, today we take dessert and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. I always make tea. I have a fear of runnin’ out of sump’n to drink at these things. It never happens but still I make tea. Yeah, I’m weird but it ain’t like y’all don’t already know that.
Now I shall seek more caffiene and find sustenance for rumbly tummy. Then one must purtify for deheathenization.
Up, and caffeinated. I’m going to the Season Ticket Holder practice with my “just friend” and her grandson. Then it’s off for a little work before the Super Bowl.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so I agree.
Congrats Janis and Ed!!!
Hang in there, LiLi!!!
swampy, they forgot to bring tea at the Donner Party, and see what happened. You can never have too much tea or TP.
Note well: this is a bear who has been well trained by the Church Ladies.
I don’t know where’ we’re deheathenating today. There was mention of the Unitarian church near where we used to live. Would that count as reheathenating?
Best wishes to Pearl and congrats to Ed (Miss Manners sez that’s the correct way). I love weddings. What time should I be there?
I got up at 6am to do my taxes and they iz done and I don’t owe. If I move like lightning I can make it to church but I think I’ll be a heathen today. Remember the TV show “Mass for Shut-Ins?” Or was that a local Chicago thing? Anyway, I’m not Catholic so I couldn’t watch it .
I think I will amble to the barn and ride Bob teh Wonder Pony unless he hasn’t been turned out. He had to stay in yesterday on accounta mud (he can’t go in the mud because of his leg injury) and he was kinda cranky until I gave him a pound of carrots, let him eat grass, walked him around, and generally fussed over him.
