Ha! Name one! Even Reeder with a bad hangover is looks positively moderate compared to** Brutus’s** spittle-lipped lunacy. On the pendulum of political extremism, Brutus has swung completely off the clock, and has flown screaming out the Door of Reason.
Sorry, but that’s nonsense, Sam. You’re a reasonable sort but I have to disagree on this one. Dragging them into Brutus’s ugly accusation would have been unfair as well as stupid. They didn’t bull their way into this discussion, flinging accusations along the way: Brutus did. I’d wager your list of his counterparts on the left would probably tally fairly closely with mine.
See, this is quagmire rabid extremists create here. My point about stupid school yard tit-for-tat forensics referred also to this: gotta drag out the whole roster of noisy partisans for who’s been disagreed with more. Teacher! Teacher! No, I don’t think BushII is a very good president, but then again I thought Clinton and wife were equally arrogant idiots who created 95% of their own problems–all to the detriment of the country. See? No ‘easy outs’ by party.
I’m fed up to the back teeth with all the noisy knee-jerkers. Their entry into a political discussion is akin the sound of toilet handle being pulled: everything’s headed straight right down the tubes. Just as a reality check, reread what I actually posted here. I defended Cheney against aspersions of sympathy with Nazis. My severest judgment was that he made a relatively small, careless mistake that could have been easily avoided, just like all politicans of any party are prone to do.
Veb
Spoken like a true dork. I have not a fraction of the partisanship that a rjung or reeder, nor do I have their (and others in the lefty camp) propensity for hijacking threads or starting stupid partisan rants.
I think it’s ironic that the apeshit lefties, like yourself, always go to such trouble to distance yourself from what you really believe.
The whole “I’m not a Democrat,” “I’m not a leftie,” “I’m not a liberal” is just so much posturing.
Face it, YOU and your fellow travelers are way to the left of American politics. The fact that you keep losing elections doesn’t change that fact. Deal.
Man, this bums me out. I’m unsubscribing from my own thread. It’s been hijacked by crazy people.
This is the sound of yet another political thread being crapped on.
Your opinons about my political beliefs are worthless, not the least because you’re either too blatantly stupid or just plain too lathered up in partisan frenzy that you can’t or won’t look fairly at what’s right in front of you. I’m not anything just because you want a target, fool. You seem to labor under the wholly mistaken impression that eye-spinning, bile-spewing venom somehow reflects on the random targets you choose instead of yourself.
You’re making an utter fool of yourself but hey, that’s obviously your choice.
Now that’s the funniest thing I’ve read all month.
Next up, Michael Jackson talks to Barbara Walters and complains about all the freaks and weirdos he sees on TV…
Uh, I believe TVeblen is singling him out as being AN obnoxious partisan, not THE obnoxious partisan. In any event, I’d be hard-pressed to think of any single poster currently on this board who is more of a one-note, unreasonably hostile, bullying jackoff than Brutus. Maybe Aldebaran, before he got the chop. If you’ve got someone in mind, why not spit out a name, and maybe an example or two of why you think they’re so much worse.
Heh - Bullying? What, did I take your milk money? Did I keep giving you swirlies until you announced your devotion to GW? Another example of people using words they don’t quite understand, but like the sound of.
Yep, this is the syndrome in action. Anything remotely political and pretty soon the sharks scent opportunities for more recreational bloodletting. Anybody not hopelessly sick and tired of the ‘game’ leaves because what’s the point?
Very stupid, very tiresome.
Brutus you don’t see anything wrong with Mr. Cheney’s dress?
The coat I can give a pass on but I can get a more appropiate hat then one that says ‘Staff 2001’ for $1.99 at Wal-Mart. Think about that for a second Cheney is representing our entire country at a memorial for the aniversary of one of the biggest tragides of our time and he couldn’t go and spend 1.99 at Wal Mart to get an appropiate hat?
If the Vice-President wears it, it is not unsartorial.
Hey, you must have seen his propellor top beanie too! I got’s to get me one of those. It’d be waaaay cool.
Reckon so.
Perhaps, or perhaps Hawthorne was making a serious point? Text can suck sometimes in regards to clarity. I’d like to hear what he/she has to say. Curiousity and the cat, ya know.
This is English. “Unsartorial” is not unknown and its meaning is clear in the context. I could have observed that Mr Cheney’s hat was cespoke, but that didn’t fit the Nixon template.
Yeep.
So it was not a woosh, you’re saying if the vice president wears something then it’s not ‘unsartorial’?
Moreoever, I’m not sure what context you think it is clear in, but it sure as heck aint that one. Unsartorial would mean ‘not tailored’, or going with the secondary definition, ‘not clothing’. Saying that if the VP wore it is becomes tailored makes no sense, so I figured it was a woosh. Unless you’re simply using the second definition and saying that if he’s wearing it it’s clothing?
Am I misunderstanding you here?
This went totally over my head. As far as I’m aware, cespoke isn’t even a word. And I don’t understand what that would have to do with Nixon. Would you please clear up my ignorance? Is that, also, a woosh?
Oh, and, by the way, both dictionary.com and merriamwebster.com say that unsartorial isn’t a word.
Perhaps they should have broken out in song: “Oh he’s a lumberjack and he’s okay, he sleeps all night and he works all day.”
He does look too casual, at least he didn’t wear his orange hunting jacket. He should have worn a business suit. Never mind the cold, what’s the worst that could happen?
Dude, you seem to take it as some sort of personal affront that some people on this board don’t think exactly the way you do. You apparently have a lot of trouble formulating a coherent argument against their positions, so you attempt to shout them down with belittlement and insult. You also are a coward, in that you only act the way you do here because of your anonymity, and I am sure that you know you’d be wearing your ass between your ears if you ever said some of the things you say here to real, live people. That makes you a common bully in my book.
Actually, I find it fascinating, this drive you seem to have to make a complete fool of yourself in front of thousands of strangers. Mania is interesting, sometimes. Please on’t stop on my account.
