I ran into Eyebrows of Doom at an event set up by a social club of sorts here in NYC. I mentioned it on the boards months before and apparently she signed up but this was the first event we both signed up for at the same time.

Oh and I bump accidentally and non-accidentally into one doper regularly, but she’s my sister. I started posting here without telling her though; she meanwhile was lurking. One day she finally just asked me, with a fair amount of suspicion in her voice, “Are you posting on the SDMB?” I fessed up. So that part was accidental.

Well, it didn’t hurt that you asked me a question about something that I had just read about in the Pit.
I had had my suspicions because PastAllReason just sounded like you.
I stumbled across a lurker once at a previous job, I overheard her talking to a friend quoting part of a thread I had been reading just like 30 min earlier. I asked her if she knew Cecil Adams, she replied not formally, but I hang out at his place now and then.
We need to develop a cool SDMB clothing line so we never miss each other! Maybe a t-shirt that just says, “Hi, Opal!” or something that would be obscure enough to keep the general public at-bay, but completely obvious to those for whom the message is intended.

I went to a Dopefest once and recognized one of the attendees (who shall remain anonymous in this post) as having once been a server at a cafe I frequented. So we had at least had some interactions of the customer/server variety before realizing we were both Dopers.
