Uhhg, see, this is what squicks me out. I have a suspicion that my brother lurks and/or posts here, but I’ve never brought it up and neither has he. It’s just that . . . I was 18 when I joined this board, and I’m 27 now. A very different person. I don’t want people I know reading every dumb thing I’ve said over the last 8+ years, to a presumably anonymous audience, out of context. It’s not that I’ve said anything horrible, it’s just that my views and knowledge and tastes and opinions and moods all change, but my posts are still up here. Gets kind of weirder the more I think about it.

I thought that the wife of my roommate in college once mentioned that he posted here now and again, but I think I may have been wrong. While he’s very conservative & from Md, I’ve never recognized his writing style here.
If he did post, I doubt her does here any longer.
I’m fairly sure that Scylla and I had some of the same friends/acquaintences back when we were in grade school (different schools though). Og, I miss ‘Lemperts’ and ‘Poles’ (No, I will Not say which one was better…)
As for Eve, well I suppose I never will get those Verizon minutes back.

I’m saying you’re cool, except for the bowling thing. Which is not to say I won’t go when (if) you ever invite me. Because I love spending time with other people’s spouses. =^.~=
(truth: I’m going bowling tonight. It starts at like eleven. Which means I’ll miss taijitsu tomorrow. And I missed it on Tuesday, cuz I had a date. With, like, an actual guy. My sensei will be getting annoyed with me soon.)
My username comes from a column I write for a group of newspapers. I once got a note in the mail saying something to the effect that my column was more readable than some of my posts to the Dope. It was said more politely than I just expressed it, but it took me a bit by surprise. I never really had my two lives come in contact before.

Well this is anecdote is slightly off-topic, but - when I was first on the boards (I took a several year break), circa 2000/01, a certain poster started a thread stating that they needed one-liner jokes for an event they were MC-ing. The more off-color the jokes, the better. The thread lasted a few days, and I did not think much of it after reading/posting on it.
Then, I happened to go to Wigstock that very weekend. Lo & behold, the Lady Bunny & cohorts started the event off by telling a lot of off-color one-liners, all of which were directly lifted from the very thread!
So, I didn’t actually meet her, but was quite surprised to discover that the Lady Bunny was a doper. (I was also happy that my own one-liner got one of the biggest laughs! )
