I didn’t enjoy it, and I’m not going to see it.
I was underwhelmed, perhaps because I was expecting more. The scenes with Jack’s parents and with Jack and his father in-law were really good.
I liked Kiss of the Spider Woman. I don’t remember anything about the plot, but I do remember that after watching it, for the first time I (thought) I understood (a teensy bit) about same sex attraction. The movie was effective, for me anyway.
davenportavenger, I was roundly criticized on the SDMB for not just “not enjoying”, but actively disliking this movie. That’s not to say there aren’t elements I don’t appreciate, but overall? I hated it. If you’re so inclined, dig up the older thread from the time of the movie’s release for some of the reasons. Long story short? In a film about forbidden love, I think I’m supposed to root for the lovers to get together, and I didn’t. I wanted Ennis to get some therapy and Jack to find a much nicer guy to settle down with.

We rented this today. Unfortunately, haven’t had the chance to watch it. I’ll report back tomorrow after viewing.
